Experience No. 1. Flying tea bags
What you need : matches, scissors, tea bags.
How to do it : you need to open the tea bags, cut the thread with the label, and pour the tea leaves out of the bags. Then it remains only to put empty bags on the table (in the form of factory pipes) and set fire.
What happens : if you let the bags burn out almost to the end, you can see how the warm air carries the dying bags up. If you are just starting to make experiments at home, this experiment will be an excellent choice, because it is very easy to conduct, and the flying remnants of bags look even beautiful in their own way.
Experience No. 2. Luminous squash and cucumbers
What you need : pickled and fresh cucumbers, squash, wires, 220 V network access, copper wire.
How to do it : first you need to attach the copper wire to the wire. Next, you need to stick the ends of the wire into a fresh cucumber and connect the wire to the network. Then change the fresh cucumber to squash and do the same with it. Now you need to repeat all these operations with pickles.
What will happen : In the case of a fresh cucumber, you will see bubbling juice and a light smoke emanating from the cucumber near the holes formed. But as soon as you change the cucumber to squash, it will begin to glow from the inside. The pickled cucumber will not only glow, but also move. Similar experiments at home prove that the amount of salt in the composition of an object is directly proportional to its electrical conductivity.
Experience No. 3. How to cut with scissors ... glass
What you need : an aquarium filled with water, scissors and thin glass.
How to do : a sheet of thin glass should be immersed in an aquarium with water, holding it with one hand. Then lower your hand with scissors into the water and begin to slowly cut the glass.
What happens : in water, due to the capillary effect, the glass becomes much more malleable, and therefore it can be cut very simply, with only a slight effort. Moreover, the cut line will be very neat, not torn. However, the experiments at home do not end there.
Experience No. 4. Heating of iodine and starch
What you need : a burner, test tube, starch, water, iodine.
How to do it : this experience is often included in various collections such as "Chemical experiments at home for children." Pupils will not only be interested in watching the reaction, but also useful. Pour a pinch of starch into a test tube and then add water. Then add a little iodine, light the burner and slowly heat the mixture. Then the tube must be cooled by placing it in a glass of cold water.
What happens : in the heated state, the solution loses its dark blue color, but when cooled, returns it again.
