Almost every connoisseur of domestic football knows who they have always called "grandfather." The figure of Sergey Gorlukovich is known to everyone. This shocking and scandalous man has always attracted the attention of a world audience.
Childhood
Gorlukovich Sergey Vadimovich was born on November 18, 1961 in the Grodno region, the village of Boruny, which is currently located in Belarus (in 1961, one of the republics of the USSR, the Byelorussian SSR). He still did not know and did not plan anything about future accomplishments and achievements, but he was fond of playing football from a young age, although everyone around him was against him.
Sergei's parents categorically did not allow him to the ball, they said that it was a waste of time and nothing good would come of it. In the future, coaches also did not see him as part of their teams, considering Sergey an ordinary layman in the world of football with a bunch of ambitions. And the lack of large clubs near the place of residence completely crossed out many plans for the future Olympic medalist.
Carier start
Despite the parental ban, Sergey Gorlukovich enters the Mogilev football school, where he meets his first coach, Ivan Antonovich Turkov. It was he who instilled the initial skills of the game at that time to the player still randomly running across the field. But, as it turned out, this was not enough. And the future star of national football was not taken in any of the teams. After from Sergey we will hear that he was not considered a good player, but, on the contrary, was recognized as unpromising. He was not even taken to the teams of the Second League. Despite the fact that an order was issued at that time, according to which two players from the local youth sports school were required to be sent to each team of the Second League.
Becoming
Desperate in attempts to join any club, the future great football player decides to enter the Mogilev Institute of Mechanical Engineering. Surprisingly it was this event that became the decisive factor in the formation of the football player. At the institute, Sergei was accepted into the club under the name “Torpedo”. And since things went uphill, he was soon transferred to the Polytech of the city of Gomel, where Sergey Gorlukovich later moved. Already there, he will play for the local club Gomselmash, the Second League team.
First trainer
Gorlukovich Sergey - a football player with a capital letter. Nikolay Kiselev - this name was the starting point in his stellar career. It was Kiselev who managed to see the huge potential in the player's endeavors. In turn, the opinion of Nikolai Kiselev was worth a lot. In the past, he himself was not a little-known player of the USSR national team, who participated in 14 games and ultimately took part in the 1970 World Cup.
Kiselyov noticed that Sergey had huge successes in defense, he was also not afraid to experiment. So, in 1984, Gorlukovich played 33 matches as an attacking midfielder, which worked out well for him. He was able to score 16 goals - a considerable indicator for the Second League. But still, Sergei was created to play on the defensive, in this direction he moved. Gorlukovich Sergey Vadimovich has repeatedly said that family, children and parental concerns occupied a huge niche in the last courses at the Mogilev Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
The athlete married when he graduated. A little later, a daughter appeared in the Gorlukovich family. Her name is Natasha. Much later, Gorlukovich said that his daughter likes to watch football, but prefers Italian teams. Neither then nor now did he like to advertise his personal life, so practically nothing is known about his family. Gorlukovich insisted: "Ask about football, about the family - not a word!"
Second coach
Soon after graduating from the institute, Gorlukovich occupied an honorable place as a defender in the Dynamo Minsk Premier League team. A total of 17 games were played, and, giving out good indicators, Gorlukovich together with his team took 4th place. The championship was held in 1985. After its completion, relations with Nikolai Kiselev reached their end, as a result of which they lowered Sergei - now he played for the First League team.
But this served as another successful outpost in the fate of a football player. Gorlukovich Sergey, whose biography was replenished with his acquaintance with Yuri Semin, the coach of the metropolitan Lokomotiv, moved to a new stage. It was this acquaintance that led the football player to fame. As part of Lokomotiv, he played 40 matches, a total of 42. A high indicator was reflected in his biography. Subsequently, this factor will affect the next turn in the fate of Sergei. In the meantime, together with the team, Gorlukovich takes 2nd place in the tournament, the Odessa "Chernomorets" climbs to the first. This fact provides the team with a ticket to the big leagues.
In April 1988, Sergei Gorkulovich was invited to the “Byshovets” - the Olympic team. He was invited very late, at a time when the team had already passed the practice, and there were very few games for selection, but rather 3. But he managed to make himself known, thereby ending up in the Olympic team. In it, Sergey played all six matches. Having won the final against Brazil with a score of 2: 1, Sergey Gorlukovich became the Olympic champion.
Third coach
Under the leadership of Valery Lobanovsky October 19, Gorlukovich falls into the national team, and in 1990 in the qualifying game with Austria he was released in the second half as a substitute. It was at this time that Sergei scored his first goal in eight years. It is noteworthy that he scored as a defender. In that game, two goals were scored, and the second goal was at the gate of the opponent, thanks to the defender. In the game with Syria, the score was 2: 0.
Gorlukovich, playing for the Lokomotiv team, to put it mildly, had fun, the game was given to him without unnecessary efforts, which was perfectly reflected in his performance. He received an invitation from Dynamo Kyiv, but refused, preferring Lokomotiv, which at that time was seventh in the USSR table. This meant that no one had heard of this team on the European stage.
Foreign practice
Soon Gorlukovich noticed abroad and called to the German team "Dortmund Borussia." As many as three seasons were a failure for Sergei. At that time there was a rule that did not allow to let out more than two foreigners at once. And Sergei was released extremely rarely in case of injury to the main player or, if necessary, withholding the account.
In the next season, which took place from 1990 to 1991, the game developed more successfully. In total, 27 games were played on the field. In one match, Sergei even managed to score the first goal. But, unfortunately, in the same match he received 2 yellow cards, which meant the need to leave the field in 63 minutes. Sergey showed his character on the field; he was tough on the defensive and did not differ in softness in his game.
In the next period, Gorlukovich almost did not show himself, he got to the base only 7 times, which meant a decline in his career. As a result, he goes to Bayer Uerdingen and spends 3 years there.
Return to Russia
Many are interested in the football player Sergey Gorlukovich, whose biography occupies a huge layer in the fate of domestic football. He lived a bright, beautiful life, starting from the domestic site, he moved abroad. The game there did not show great results, and his entry into the Russian team was a foregone conclusion. But this relocation went smoothly, initially he was only three times called to play at the core of the Russian team at the 1990 World Cup. This was surprising, because at that time Gorlukovich was known more than the whole world. He played abroad and, although he did not bring great results, remained no less in demand.
But the cold attitude of the national team only fueled interest. He also took part in the subsequent 1994 World Cup. But the results were unbearable, he was again invited to play on the basis of only three times, and this for two years.
At the age of 34, Sergey Gorlukovich returned to his native country, leaving foreign clubs. In 1995, he holds five matches with Alania, after which he played for three years at Spartak Moscow. As a result, the athlete is becoming less and less the basis, which contributes to his transition to the First League team “Torpedo-ZIL”.

An incredibly talented defender Gorlukovich Sergey Vadimovich, whose photo shows off among many fans in the framework, in 2000 played a series of small-caliber matches, thereby completing his long and chic career as a football player. He became an example for many novice players, looking at him you can draw inspiration. Sergei did not miss the opportunity to try himself as a breeder of the capital “Spartak”, as well as a coach of “Saturn” from Ramenskoye and other teams from all over the boundless Russia: SKA-Energia from Khabarovsk, Kursk “Vanguard”, Podolsky “Vityaz” , Baikal from Irkutsk and Sochi football club from the city of the same name. In addition, in 2010 Sergey managed to obtain a license of a Pro class coach.
