Sergey Andreev: "I am a forward"

"I am a forward." This is the autobiographical book of a famous football player and coach. In the 70-80s of the last century and even in the 90s, he could just call a book by his name. There was no such person - a football player, coach, functionary, fan - who would not know who Sergey Andreev was.

At the dawn of "Dawn"

Andreev is a product of Voroshilovgrad sport boarding school. We can say - the spiritual continuation of the "Dawn" phenomenon, which in the 70s blew up the "capital swamp" of Soviet football. Before her, either Moscow teams or clubs from the capitals of the Union republics became champions. And here you are! Regional center!

For the champion “Dawn" football player Sergei Andreev, of course, has not played in his youth. But the splendid spirit of Zarinsky attacks was saturated for life. Yes, and he got into the main composition of “Dawn” when many of its players (now ex-champions) were still in the composition.

However, he did not make his name in his hometown.

Rostov-Papa

The time has come to serve in the army. The path for a decent football player is one - an army club. That would be nice to Kiev “Dynamo” through the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Let the Kiyayevites not look at Andreev. Unless others that are from SKA. Perhaps there will be SKA from Odessa. But these are not the teams you want. Another thing is the Rostov SKA - major league, name, not far from home.

Therefore, when a friend of Stulchin was invited to view in SKA, Sergey joined him - brazenly, “self-propelled”, at random. Andreev “appealed” luck in Rostov with excellent physical form, phenomenal speed qualities and scoring instincts. As it turned out, SKA then embraced, probably, the largest figure in its history. Not counting, of course, Victor Monday.

On Don house

Sergey Andreev dispatched the first goal in the major league in 1978 to the Leningrad Dynamo and ... it went.

His name, which sounds like the rustling of a net after hitting a ball and then dropping it to the ground, was quickly remembered. Very often, this sound had to be reflected by lighting the letters "S. ANDREEV" on the scoreboard.

In the national team shirt

A year later, an invitation to the USSR national team. In 1980, Sergei Andreev strengthened the team at the Olympics-80. The forward did not seem to let us down: five goals in six matches. Venezuela (4-0) - times; Cuba (8: 0) - two, three, four; Yugoslavia (2-0) - five. But it did not bring joy. In the semifinals, lost to the “Gadera”, and the “bronze” is not a reason for joy. Also for Andreev. Even the mundial of 1982, he does not really like to remember.

He considers his best goals to be the ball scored on the “Maracana” of the Brazilian national team (2: 1) in a friendly match in 1980 and the only goal in the final of the 81 Cup at the goal of Moscow “Spartak”.

Probably, with such talents, playing in a club would be stronger than SKA, but ...

SKA - 1981 USSR Cup Winner

Army "Bank"

Moscow teams invited Andreev. And more than once. But Andreev was not the “runner,” and the conditions on the Don were not bad. However, leaving the army club is still a problem if you are already passing as a career military man.

In the middle-end of his career, Sergey Andreev began to think about changing places, and completely felt all the “charms” of army-football serfdom. For the “non-army” thoughts of the football player they did not put in the squad (they even had to play in the championship of the Rostov region), but they did not let other clubs go.

At the end of his career, it seemed that he managed to get into the first-league Rostov “alternative” - “Rostselmash”, but the army authorities even showed from the principle who is in charge here. In Kemerovo, Sergey Andreev scored the first goal for the “harvesters”, and already in Khabarovsk (!) The “deserter” was arrested, put on guardhouse for an unauthorized departure. Dismissal, they say, has not yet taken place.

Then Andreev played in Sweden, and later helped “Rostselmash” in the first championships of Russia.

Other "gates"

Sergei Andreev’s coaching career began as fast as the scorer: three years later (1998) after the start, Rostselmash’s sixth place (the best in history before being renamed to Rostov) and a place in European competitions. It seemed that we had a new top coach. Alas! After losing to the Spanish “Valencia” in the Intertoto Cup, Andreev was fired.

Coach Andreev

Then there was a failure in the Russian "Chernomorets". A new attempt to fly into the first division with the Belgorod “Salute”. The team took off, but without a coach. Then followed an attempt to revive the Rostov SKA. The success of amateur "Nicky" (Red Sulin) at its level. And again the dismissal ...

In recent years, Sergei Vasilievich did not shy away from working with amateur and children's football clubs and schools. So in 2016, he took up work with MITOS (Novocherkassk), but the club was disbanded. Since then, for big football, Sergey Andreev is unemployed.

Although his name is still heard as a ball falling into the goal, which means that Sergey Andreev is a forward for centuries.
