From the history of meat plants in Russia
With the collapse of the Soviet Union, dramatic changes occurred in the Russian meat production market. Inflation in the country increased rapidly, followed by meat prices. Salaries of citizens, despite their constant indexation, did not match the required cost of production. Because of this, there has been a decline in demand for meat products. The problem for enterprises was the depreciation of working capital, moreover, the overdue loan loans grew incredibly and ended only by the end of the 90s. The largest meat plants in Russia tried to maintain production thanks to directed funding from the authorities. Small and medium-sized factories felt only serious losses in the Russian production market.
The role of Western manufacturers
The situation in the country led to the export of products from Western manufacturers. The store shelves were filled with cheap low-quality meat. Since the end of 1992, there has been an additional import of worn-out equipment for the production of meat products from Germany and Poland. By the beginning of 1996, this led to a glut of markets with low-quality products. After a certain period of time, associations of enterprises took place on the Russian meat processing market . Privatization, carried out in the early 90s, covered such large meat processing plants as Cherkizovsky and Mikoyanovsky . The assets of the enterprises were acquired by private owners. Small factories, due to the lack of third-party investments, were often declared bankrupt or produced at a loss.
Current situation
A rather serious stage of modernization since the last century was the meat processing plants in Russia. The process of both production and marketing of final products is developing. The decrease in inflation over the years has contributed to strengthening the position of the largest enterprises. In addition, there has been an increase in the discoveries of new meat processing plants, causing a demand for meat products among the population.
Despite the fact that the main crisis situations have been forced over the years, significant losses have occurred in the meat processing industry. Only large meat-packing plants that managed to organize the replacement of obsolete equipment, as well as increase the assortment of meat products, strengthened the situation. Russian meat plants have a very high demand not only among citizens of their country, but also among foreign ones. Each company produces products according to its own recipes and under its own brand, in order to attract the attention of the buyer. In the conditions of fierce competition, cases of struggle for the laurels of the winner in the meat industry are not uncommon. But the main factors that enterprises may miss are the quality of the manufactured products and adherence to sanitary norms and rules. Not every plant can adhere to these rules, therefore only meat processing plants that honestly fulfill the set requirements can occupy a stable position in the Russian market. Oldest
The first to consider is the Mikoyan meat processing plant, whose history of existence in the field of meat production began from the end of the 18th century. According to historians, slaughterhouses used to be located on the site of the enterprise. Before the October Revolution, a whole production was formed on the lands of the village of Grayvoron and individual settlements for the slaughter of livestock and the sale of meat products. It was in these places that the butchers moved, which later, with the support of the Moscow authorities, formed a real meat estate. At the end of the 19th century, merchant shops were replaced with attracted city funds in the amount of several million rubles. By the beginning of the twentieth century, there were refrigeration units, access railway lines, water supply for irrigation of land.
In Soviet times, in the early 30s, People's Commissar A.I. Mikoyan together with Soyuzmjyas specialists visited the USA to exchange experience in the meat processing industry. In the same period, new factory buildings were built for the manufacture of sausages. Well-known brands "Tea", "Doctor" appeared, made in accordance with GOST. During the Great Patriotic War, the meat factory actively supplied the front with meat products. To provide food for the rear workers, new types of products were created. Monetary fees were spent on the creation of military equipment for the Soviet army. In the 90s, the Mikoyanovsk meat processing plant received an investment in equipment modernization from Exima Holding. In the 2000s, a large meat processing plant Euro EM was launched with the latest technology for product development.
Meat processing plant from the distant Urals
Yekaterinburg meat processing plant is another oldest enterprise in Russia. The production of meat products has been launched since 1939. The plant took part in the supply of products to the front during the Great Patriotic War.

Meat processing plant Medvedovsky can be considered the largest producer of sausage products. The history of the plant began in 1962. For such a long time, the company has moved from traditional to the most advanced technologies. Meat products made by Kuban producers are of high quality.
By 2010, the latest sausage factory with highly efficient equipment was commissioned. In this regard, the output of sausage products increased by more than 200 types. The raw materials used are proprietary to the enterprise. The plant is also a laureate of various Russian exhibitions.
Malakhovsky meat processing plant
This company began its meat processing activities in early 1990. The Malakhovsky Meat Processing Plant has come a long way from a small slaughterhouse to the largest organization. The main activity of the enterprise is the production of sausages and semi-finished products. Currently, the company uses new equipment supplied both from Russia and abroad. To maintain the shelf life of the products, packaging lines for gas and vacuum were launched. The daily rate of productivity reaches 60 tons. Brands of sausages are developed by Russian specialists in accordance with GOST. The plant also has exclusive developments together with colleagues from Austria. The feedstock consists mainly of beef or pork. The company's specialists are attentive to the quality of the products produced, the slaughter shop is given special importance in the preparation of meat.
Premium products from Klinsky meat-packing plant
More than a hundred sausages are produced by this enterprise. The assortment includes both smoked and cooked products. Over 30 types of semi-finished products are produced. Manufacturers have achieved the highest rating due to demand not only in the popular institutions of Moscow, but also in the central regions. The use of a new cattle slaughtering workshop allows you to refuse the purchase of frozen raw materials from abroad.
In Soviet times, the company underwent continuous reconstruction of workshops, the opening of new laboratories and the replacement of obsolete equipment. Since the end of the 90s, the Klinsky Meat Processing Plant has been registered for compliance with GOST requirements. Due to the large turnover of meat products, which is more than 50 thousand tons per year, the plant is one of the best meat processing plants in Russia.
