Production capacity of the enterprise as its main characteristic

The production capacity of an enterprise is the maximum output of an industrial unit for a certain period of time. This is the maximum number of products that can be produced in one year. In this case, of course, advanced technologies and modern methods of organizing labor and production should be applied.
Everything - equipment, space, personnel, and work materials should be organized at the highest level.

How are plant capacity calculations carried out? For this purpose, the company considers the numbers of manufactured products and compares them in units. This is a very time-consuming process that takes a very long time. The higher the number of units of a product, the higher the production capacity of the enterprise.
The calculation is also carried out in workshops, leading divisions, leading groups. There, the calculation is carried out by leading units, and the leading unit is considered to be the unit where most of the production fixed assets that carry out large and important technological operations for the production of any product are collected. For example, in mechanical engineering, assembly and mechanical workshops are considered the leading workshops. At the baking enterprises, the leading divisions are baking ovens, and at the factories producing cars - an assembly line. Having added all the amounts separately, by units, the production capacity of the enterprise is obtained. From how correctly distributed tasks aimed at leading sites, the overall indicator of the production capacity of the enterprise depends. The interest of large investors also depends on this. Enterprise capacity - shows how purposefully and correctly the enterprise operates.

To measure the capacity of the enterprise you need to use natural or conditional meters. For example - pieces, meters, banks or a ton. Timing of production is calculated according to the table, where calendar time, days off, major repairs, scheduled preventive repairs and readjustment are calculated.

Separately, the rated time is calculated, including the current downtime and the actual operating time.
What is calendar time? This is the full calendar duration of the current period. For example, a year. There are 365 days in a year, which means there are as many calendar days.
What is the nominal time? This is the time during which production equipment is used, but of course, working equipment. In practice, the calculation is not always true, since very often the equipment deteriorates and it takes a certain time to repair it. This is called the current downtime. Current downtimes are short. They are caused by technical, sometimes organizational, reasons (lack of stock or electricity).

In our time, the competition among world enterprises has increased several times. For a company to function successfully in a competitive market, a high production potential of the enterprise is required.
Modern enterprises that participate in the global production process are required to calculate such an indicator as the production capacity of the enterprise and adhere to these indicators. For example, if an enterprise has planned the production of 1,000,000 cans of pickles, and produced 1,000,250, then this is not considered a violation, this is called an excess of estimated capacity. But if the product is released less than the estimated number of units, then this is a clear violation that could negatively affect the enterprise due to, say, short supply of products to potential customers.

In general, we can conclude that such an indicator as the production capacity of an enterprise is its fundamental characteristic, and its maintenance and increase should be given primary attention.
