Marc-Andre ter Stegen is a German goalkeeper in favor of the Spanish Barcelona. He turned 24 this year, and at the moment he is the second number of the German national team after the strongest goalkeeper in the world, Manuel Neuer. Marc-Andre ter Stegen plays exclusively as a goalkeeper, and many compare him in the style of the game with the legendary Oliver Kahn.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen was born on April 30, 1992 in Germany, in the city of Mönchengladbach. At the age of four, he joined the football academy of the local Borussia, which today is one of the strongest clubs in Germany. For fourteen years, he played for the club’s youth teams of various age categories, until in 2010 he signed a professional contract with the club when he was eighteen years old. Already before this, Marc-Andre ter Stegen played for the club's double, and in the 10/11 season he made his debut in the main team. He spent only eight matches, but in 2011 he became the main goalkeeper - and for the next three seasons he stood unceasingly in the framework of the Borussia goal. In total, he spent 127 matches for the club, but the Mönchengladbach did not claim much in the German Championship - the same thing applied to European tournaments. Therefore, in 2014, the goalkeeper made the biggest step of his career - he agreed to move to one of the strongest clubs in the world, the Catalan Barcelona.
Going to Barcelona
So, the new club, for which Marc-Andre ter Stegen began to play - Barcelona. However, unfortunately, there he was only destined for the role of a reserve. Fortunately, the club adheres to a system according to which one goalkeeper is on goal in the Championship of Spain, and another in other tournaments. Therefore, already in his debut season for Barcelona, ​​ter Stegen played 21 matches - 8 in the Spanish Cup and 13 in the Champions League. And in the very first year, after several years without trophies and successes in Borussia, he immediately won the Spanish Championship, the Spanish Cup and the Champions League together with Barcelona. In the second season, he spent seven matches in the Spanish Championship, but still remained a reserve goalkeeper, so he spent more games in other tournaments - 7 in the Spanish Cup and 10 in the Champions League. This time the club limited itself to victories in the Championship of Spain and the Spanish Cup. This season, ter Stegen has become the main goalkeeper of Barcelona, ​​as the club has left Claudio Bravo, and now he stands at the gate in the Championship of Spain and the Champions League. He has already played 16 matches, of which exactly half kept his goal intact.

As for the German team, then Ter Stegen remains in the shadow of the above-mentioned Manuel Neuer. He made his debut in 2012, but has since spent only eight matches, seven of which were friendly.
