Working on a computer is constantly accompanied by such a procedure as installing and removing programs. Despite the fact that quite a lot of applications are integrated into the system, they are usually not enough for the most effective work. In addition, many third-party software products perform tasks much better than standard Windows tools.
Although installing and removing programs is quite simple, there are a number of things to consider. For those applications that are installed from removable media (disk, flash drive), usually autoload mode is provided. The process starts immediately after connecting an external medium to the computer. In this case, the user can only follow the installation algorithm. With some applications, additional software is installed at the same time, so you need to carefully read all the messages that appear during the installation process.
If the application does not have autorun, then it is installed through a file with the .exe extension. All executable files have this format. If the program has a complex structure consisting of directories and subdirectories, then setup.exe is provided for installation, which starts the download process in two clicks. It is not recommended to install the software directly from removable media. It is proposed to copy the program files to the hard drive and install the application from there. In addition, freeware products can be downloaded directly from the Internet.
Those programs that are archived to the user can also be placed in a separate folder to unzip immediately before downloading. When installing the program, it should be remembered that the installation and removal of applications go hand in hand and are carried out through the special system tool "Setup Wizard", which is built into Windows. It can be opened by going through the "Start" in the "Control Panel" and finding the section "Add or Remove Programs" in the menu.
It is important not only to install, but also to uninstall programs correctly, that is, through the "Wizard". With incorrect deletion, part of the program files remains on the computer, and gradually accumulating, slows down its operation. And it does not depend on which OS the installation and removal of programs takes place: Windows 7, XP or Windows 8.
Programs are uninstalled by selecting the appropriate menu in the "Control Panel" . After waiting for the list of all present applications to be built, select the necessary one and click "Delete." If the installation process is familiar from XP, you should be aware that installing and uninstalling programs in Windows 7 will go the same way, without causing any difficulties.
In order to verify the complete deletion, you need to go to the address where the program was saved, and check if there is a folder with files containing application components left there. If such a folder exists, then it should be deleted through the combination βshift + delβ.
As you can see, installing and removing programs is a fairly simple action and should not cause any difficulties for the user who has mastered the basics of working on a PC.
