It should be noted that, especially for underground hydrants, there is a KPA fire column, with which you can open and close the access of water from the well. Features of the fire column

During operation, the protective cover of the hydrant is folded down and the fire column is screwed to a tight connection, which is determined by the level of pressing the gasket. Then the water flows through the formed passage into the hydrant body and passes into the fire column. At the end of the work, the pressure is closed in the reverse order, and the remaining water is drained through a special channel, which is blocked when the valve is open through a rubber seal.
