Each of the people at least once in his life was this ward. Now a baby is born - they immediately begin to take care of him. The list of responsibilities of parents has everything you need for life and proper development of the child. Especially if he has health problems. You can use the synonym: it is patronized. Interestingly, the word “ward” is not in the Russian language.
And there is another common situation: at some point in life, a person is recognized as legally incompetent by the court because he has acquired, for example, a mental disorder. In this case, the guardian will be required to take care of the health and property of the ward. And this is only a small part of everything that a person will have to face who is transferred responsibility for the addict.
Guardianship and trusteeship
In addition to guardianship, there is also trusteeship. What is the difference? That important decisions and actions are not taken on behalf of the ward, as is the case with guardianship. The trustee simply expresses his consent or disagreement, and does not sign something on behalf of the dependent. But this is a separate legal history.
There are many more situations in which a person becomes a ward. It is not necessarily something childish, serious or painful. The most important sign is that he is under someone’s guardianship, they help him, support him.
So who are the wards and how do they live?
The ward is not such a self-sufficient person. He does not have the right to participate fully in decisions that concern his life and fate. He cannot make any transactions as necessary. You can argue for a very long time on how such a ward person can be used for selfish purposes, how unscrupulously some carry out duties, and spoil the life of an addicted person. History knows a lot of suffering for children because of their parents. Everywhere there are new cases of pensioners suffering because of their young relatives. But fortunately, the rights of children and older people are actively defended in our time.
The word “ward” is also widely used in those cases when it comes to territories that, according to the results of the Second World War, were included in the UN international guardianship system.
