Ozokerite is a natural substance with a wax-like consistency. It is an oil product whose deposits are located in the Carpathians, in Canada and on the islands of Britain.
Currently, treatment with ozokerite is quite widespread. This mineral raw material has found its application in heat therapy. Mountain wax, as it is also called, is an excellent material for this technique. Ozokerite is plastic, which allows you to give it the necessary shape, and perfectly keeps heat in a heated state.
Mountain wax therapy is used for joint pathologies (arthritis, arthrosis and osteochondrosis), as well as in the period after surgery to accelerate the recovery of the body.
How to apply ozokerite?
Ozokerite at home can be used quite successfully. Carrying out this procedure does not require special equipment, and its methodology is quite simple. For home heat therapy you will need two pots. One of them should be smaller and the other larger. Ozokerite is taken. It can be purchased at the pharmacy chain or in the online store. Pieces of mountain wax are placed in a smaller saucepan. They should be melted in a water bath. To do this, a large pan is filled to the middle with water and a small container with ozokerite is placed in it. The resulting structure is put on fire. The healing oil product must be melted completely. To prevent water from entering it, cover the small saucepan.
At home, liquid ozokerite is poured into a shallow container (tray or baking sheet), the bottom of which is previously covered with a medical oilcloth or any material that can withstand high temperatures. Melted mountain wax resembles a thick jelly in its consistency and is evenly distributed.
The treatment product is finally ready in fifteen to twenty minutes. To verify this fact, you will need a wand or a toothpick. The resulting layer is pierced in several places. In the case when no liquid appears from the inner layer, the prepared ozokerite at home is ready for use for heat therapy.
A layer of mountain wax is superimposed on a sore spot, crumpled along the contour of the body and covered with a cloak of dense fabric. The procedure lasts thirty to thirty-five minutes. This method helps heat penetrate into the deeper layers of the tissue. This provides a constant and strong effect. Ozokerite, the use of which at home should be previously agreed with the attending physician, can be used in courses. For example, from ten to twelve to twenty to twenty five sessions.
After the procedure in which ozokerite was used at home is completely carried out, the therapeutic product rolls into a ball. It can be stored in a container until next time.
When is the procedure recommended?
Ozokerite is applied at home to children and adults. For babies up to a year, this procedure is prescribed for spastic contractures of muscle tissue. The healing product is used for thermal relaxation.
For children older than one year, ozokerite is recommended for coughing, biliary dyskinesia, pathologies of the bladder, as well as for the treatment of sprains and bruises.
