That it is rightfully recognized and is the hallmark of the great city and has long been called the Square of the Fighters of the Revolution. Bit of history

Initially, the place where the central square of Vladivostok is currently located was a small slope that went down to the bay called the Golden Horn.

In 1860, a market formed on this slope. It did not last long, until 1907, after which it was transferred to the banks of the Amur River.

After the market was removed, a city garden was laid out on a gentle slope, and warehouses for storing goods were built nearby.

From 1937 to 1939, on the site of city gardens, they intended to build a sea station, but this idea could not be realized. This is due to the fact that in 1941 the war began, which violated the construction plans.

From 1951 to 1953, the famous urban planners A. M. Suvorov and T. L. Shulgina developed a new plan that provided for an area in the city center. It was proposed to erect a theater and a post office. Despite the fact that the construction of these buildings was rejected, a place for the square on the general plan of the city was nevertheless approved.

Since 1965, the city central square of Vladivostok began to be called the Square of the Fighters of the Revolution.
