Football career
Goalkeeper Yuri Zhevnov began his football career in the youth composition of the Belarusian clubs MPKTS-96, Ruor, RShVSM-Olympia, Smena-BATE. He has been playing big football since 2000. As part of the Belarusian BATE, he played 80 matches, conceded 68 goals. In Russian clubs he played 186 games, conceded 179 goals.

Stages of the football path
Yuri Zhevnov is a pupil of Belarusian football. After graduating from youth sports school, he studied at the Minsk School of Olympic Reserve. He played in a number of Belarusian teams. At 17, he signs his first professional contract with the BATE team. Yuri began his appearances in the main team of Belarus since the 2000 season. For five years, in the BATE, he played 80 fights. He participated in the UEFA Cup matches (scored 1 goal), became the champion (2002), silver (2000, 2003, 2004) and bronze (2001) prize-winner of the Belorussian championship, participant in the 2004 European Championship among youth teams, the best goalkeeper (2003, 2004) and the best footballer of Belarus (2010).
In 2005, he joined FC Moscow. The debut match in the Russian Championship was held on March 12 in a duel against Spartak Moscow. In this match, Yuri Zhevnov also reflected his first penalty.
The next season for the goalkeeper was unsuccessful. Yuri held it as an understudy, losing position No. 1 to Sergei Kozko. And only from the championship of 2007 Yuri Zhevnov becomes the main guard of the gates of the Moscow club and its captain. In the same year he is recognized as the best football player of the team. He is awarded the title of master of sports of Russia.
The next four years of his football career were in the Zenit team. On August 5, 2010, Yuri made his debut in the Champions League in a match with the French Auxerre. The second and so far the last match in the main club Euro tournament he played in the match with Benfica. Together with the team, he wins gold (2011, 2012) and silver (2013) medals of the Russian championship, becomes the owner of the Cup (2010) and the Super Bowl (2011) of the country.
Although, by and large, the goalkeeper career at Zenit did not work out. A series of injuries, often ridiculous, almost out of the blue, did not allow Zhevnov to play stably in the main team. For six rounds before the end of the championship, he, after another injury, already in the eighth minute of the meeting in a duel with the club “Mordovia” actually ended his relationship with the Leningrad team. Zenit coach Luciano Spaletti has relied on other goalkeepers.
In 2013, having failed to create competition for Vyacheslav Malafeev and Dmitry Borodin, Yuri Zhevnov, as a free agent, transferred to the Torpedo club. Having played the season for the Moscow team (29 meetings), he signed a contract with the Ural club in June 2015. The main reason why the player moved to the Yekaterinburg team, Yuri believes a long-standing friendship with the club’s head coach Viktor Goncharenko. With him, he once studied together at the Olympic Reserve School in Minsk. Currently, for the Ural team, Yuri Zhevnov has played 11 matches in which he conceded 15 goals.
A family
Yuri Zhevnov and Yulia Mankovskaya legalized their relationship in Minsk in 2011. The football player’s wife is a master of sports in rhythmic gymnastics, a former soloist of the music group Las Vegas. She is also an actress (she graduated from the VTU named after Shchukin), who played the main roles in several television series, and is also a participant in the project “Dancing with the Stars” (Belarusian version).
