They contain chaleritin, sanguinarine, flavonoids, organic acids and many other elements, including vitamin A, ascorbic acid, essential oils. The benefits to the human body are very great, but the main application is the use as a choleretic, spasmolytic and anti-inflammatory agent.
Celandine is also used as a painkiller. The tincture, the use of which gives a calming effect, is identical in its effect on the body with poppy alkoids - morphine and papaverine. The old celandine plant also contains a large number of alkoids, especially in the root. If you want to get a milder effect, then the early roots and leaves are taken.
Alcoids reduce pressure, inhibit the activity of the nervous system, calm the pulse and give a very powerful analgesic effect. However, the use of tinctures in large quantities is dangerous to health: paralysis of the nervous system is possible.
