An open breed of chickens appeared in the domestic poultry industry not so long ago. Previously, these birds were called Transylvanian. It is not known exactly where this breed was bred, but it came to our country from Romania and Hungary, where it is a fairly common species. They love these original birds in other European countries, especially in France, Germany and Spain. In our country, this breed is not too popular, since the appearance of these chickens is too unusual for the Russian owner. Now their most common name is the Spanish bull breed chickens.
Breeding purpose
The type of productivity of these birds is meat and egg. Therefore, they are kept mainly for the sake of eggs. The average egg production is 180 eggs in the first year and 150 in the second. In the future, it is recommended to slaughter the bird for meat. An open-breed breed of chickens carries fairly large eggs weighing about 55 g. The shell is bright white or slightly yellowish.
General form
Chickens are medium sized with strong legs. The side view resembles a rectangle, which is almost half narrowed towards the tail. At first, the chickens are fed with crushed grain in half with a finely chopped boiled egg. Be sure to add finely chopped greens, carrots, potatoes, beets, wheat bran, crushed bones.
At two months of age, obese corn is added to the chickens ’diet. If the birds are not allowed out in the sun, they should be given fish oil.
Adult chickens must be sure to get potatoes, cereals, herbs, root vegetables, dairy products, clover and fish flour, vegetables, corn, and yeast. To prevent stagnation of food and as a source of calcium, it is necessary to give the hens crushed or finely beaten egg shells.
For any breed, a correctly balanced compound feed is very important.
