Despite the fact that Africa is considered the birthplace of watermelon, Russia is the world leader in the consumption of this tasty and healthy berry. It came to our country somewhere around 9-10 centuries and over the past millennium has firmly registered on our tables. Confirmation of this thesis can be seen from the second half of summer in any supermarket and in any market. Watermelons reign there. It is possible that this only seems due to their gigantic size. But let's be honest. What do you prefer on a hot summer day - sweet peach or juicy watermelon? Of course, the second. We not only cut watermelon, serving it as a dessert, we even salt it, despite the incompatibility of the concept of pickling and the original sweetness of this berry.

Despite the popularity of this berry, not everyone knows how to choose the right one and how to cut a watermelon correctly. We will not talk about selection criteria now, since this is a whole science. Moreover, at the end of summer, and even more so at the beginning of autumn, almost all watermelons are already filled and tasty. And we’ll talk about how to cut watermelon properly.
In large families, a watermelon is usually cut by the head of the family during a meal, giving household members neat and beautiful pieces. Maybe he can do it in several ways.
The most common way is dividing it into slices.
Two circles from the top and bottom are cut from the berry, then it is placed and divided into brackets. But since cutting watermelon in this way, despite the apparent simplicity of the method, is not available to everyone, many prefer to do it easier. They also cut the top and bottom from the berry, then divide it in half along, and begin to cut in half rings like onions. Agree that this is much more convenient. But in this case, not all watermelon eaters will receive equivalent slices. In a watermelon, as everyone knows, the “middle” is considered the most delicious, because it is it that is the most sugary. And with this method, someone will get the "tops", and someone will be forced to be content with the "roots".
The same applies to the option of slicing the berries on top in circles. Therefore, nevertheless, it can be cut “more justly” with brackets. If you cannot cut the watermelon evenly, since the knife constantly leads to the side, then divide it into two parts, and then into smaller pieces.
In general, if you bought not very giant berries, then you can and do not cut it at all. More precisely, we divide the watermelon in half and give each eater a spoon along with a half.
It can also be peeled like an apple, cut into cubes and served as a dessert, offering to use it with forks. It’s not worth talking about how to properly cut watermelon in this way - everything is clear from the attached picture. But this method is for some reason not as popular as in the West.
Actually, to be honest, no one can say how to cut a watermelon correctly, since the concept of “correctness” and “incorrectness” is simply not applicable here. You do not clean the fish, which is supposed to begin to get rid of the scales from the tail, and do not repair the electric switch, where it is important for you to connect the contacts to each other in the right sequence. And eating watermelon, as well as slicing it, is a matter of taste and habit.
