Nicola Drinčić: Interesting Biography Facts

Many football players from the former Yugoslavia willingly go to play in Russian clubs: a similar language and mentality, as well as the traditionally good attitude towards representatives of the fraternal people in our country, are the main reasons for this. The Montenegrin midfielder Nikola Drinčić, who spent a total of six years in Russia, was no exception.

Before the contract with Amkar

He was born in 1984 in Belgrade and as a teenager fell into the sphere of interests of one of the country's leading clubs - Partizan. However, he didn’t really play for this team. He spent only four matches for the main team, and even then incomplete. It was leased several times to secondary clubs, and in 2006 was sold to the Turkish Gaziantepspor.

The young player spent only a few months in this club and managed to fall in love with local fans, having proved himself well in a number of matches. Then he first received a call to the Montenegro team. It was in Gaziantepspor that he was noticed by the breeders of Perm Amkar. This team was the first in his Russian career: Nikola Drincici signed a contract in February 2007.

In Russia

In the ā€œAmkarā€, the young Montenegrin’s business was excellent. His compatriot Miodrag Bozovic, who coached the team then, constantly put him in the squad, where Drinčić became the main performer of free-kicks and corner kicks. Its transfer value went up sharply, and soon famous European clubs became interested in the football player.

However, the midfielder chose to stay in Russia, choosing instead of the Italian ā€œGenoaā€ Moscow ā€œSpartakā€, which, under the leadership of Valery Karpin, dreamed of regaining the championship title. He moved here as a free agent in early 2010, because by this time the contract with Amkar had ended. Below is a photo of Nicola Drinčić wearing a club T-shirt, which became the pinnacle of his career.

And it was necessary for this to happen that just two weeks after signing the contract with the Muscovites, he received a serious injury to his right leg in an ordinary friendly match. For half a year, footballer Nikola Drinčić was left without a favorite game.

And after the restoration to really play in ā€œSpartacusā€ he could not. Karpin did not see him in the first team and kept him in reserve. As the Montenegrin himself later admitted, he asked the coach three times to let him out of the team. Finally, in February 2011, Drinčić moved to Krasnodar.

Here he was lucky again with a mentor: the Serb Slavolyub Muslin knew him back in the pre-Russian period and praised the midfielder's capabilities. He became the basis of the team and fully played almost two seasons. But again the injury prevented.

Again a few months offside, and after returning to the field only one match in the squad. Alas, the competition. In 2013, Nikola Drinchich left Russia forever.

Further career

After Krasnodar, his career began to decline: returning for one season to Partizan, then a business trip for several months to Israel. Now 34-year-old Nikola Drinčić stands for the small Serbian club Chukarichki from his native Belgrade. But who knows, maybe he will return to play football in Russia, even if not in the Premier League club.
