Back in 1758, Jose Antonio Cuervo, using a patent on the land granted to him by the king, bought a hacienda and built a small distillery there to distill authentic alcohol, which was made from the juice of a local plant - agave. The case "burned out" and turned out to be profitable, and already in 1795 his son, Jose Maria de Cuervo, received a wine distillery license from the Spanish monarch, expanded his father's enterprise and engaged in the production of mezcal. That year is considered to be the official foundation date of the company, which was destined for a long journey crowned with worldwide fame.

In 1812, Jose dies, leaving huge agave plantations to his blue son, also Jose, and the distillery to his daughter Maria (by the way, her husband, Vincento Rojas, renamed the plant in honor of his beloved - La Rojeña). Jose Ignacio shows himself to be a zealous host. He is expanding his father's agave plantations, so there are already more than 3 million bushes for raw materials. But after the death of the “next Jose”, things went pretty bad for the company, and soon it was sold to businessman Jesus Flores. And subsequently, the impoverished heir to the Jose dynasty was even forced to get a manager at a sold enterprise, which Flores, it should be noted, developed very well: he took advantage of the railways, began to pour tequila not in a barrel, but in a bottle, exported this drink to various countries. Jesús died a few years before the beginning of the twentieth century. The widow inherited the distillery and noble fortune. But in those days it was not customary for a lady to run a large business. The faithful manager, Jose Cuervo, came to the rescue. In 1900, the couple got married, and the Jose Cuervo tequila factory, the quality of which rattled all over the New and Old Worlds (and were very positive), returned to the descendants of the founding father. From that time to this day, it is the largest company in the world producing such drinks.

It is no coincidence that many bartenders offer it for the first test of rather specific alcoholic products from agave. Its aroma is richly agave, the admixture is oak, vanilla, spices, and the taste is balanced. They drink with lime and salt, with a pinch of ginger, with a slice of orange, sprinkled with cinnamon.
