Kalanchoe refers to shrubs with fleshy leaves and intense flowering, in which you can see flowers of very different colors - red, pink, orange, yellow. This plant has medicinal properties, among which it is worth noting antibacterial qualities. Kalanchoe juice has both bactericidal and bacteriostatic effects, effectively fights pyogenic microorganisms and shigella.
An important advantage of this juice is its low toxicity. It does not irritate the skin and mucous membranes, it contains a large amount of ascorbic acid, flavonoids. In addition, it includes some tannins and trace elements.
A number of studies have been carried out, during which it was found that in clinical conditions, Kalanchoe juice is effective in the treatment of dysentery, so it can be assumed that they can replace antibiotic therapy for this intestinal disease.
It is worth noting that only the aerial parts of the plant have a therapeutic effect - shoots and young leaves of the Kalanchoe pinnate, from which juice is made, which can be purchased in pharmacies. This Kalanchoe juice is widely used in the treatment of inflammatory lesions of the eyes and gums. And also with colds and rhinitis, with varicose veins.
Kalanchoe juice can be made at home. For this, the leaves of the plant need to be put in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, then finely chopped, wrapped in cheesecloth, transferred to a wooden rolling pin. Keep the juice in the refrigerator for another two days, then dilute with water and vodka in equal proportions. Per gram of juice you need to take 20 grams of vodka with water. Store juice prepared in this way in the refrigerator.
Another species of this plant is Kalanchoe Degremon, it is also often used in homeopathy and is called "room ginseng."
It is worth noting that, despite the pronounced therapeutic properties of Kalanchoe, it can be used for therapeutic purposes only after consulting a doctor. It must be remembered that individual sensitivity can develop.
The treatment of Kalanchoe is based on its pronounced anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties. So, Kalanchoe (juice) is effectively used in the treatment of trophic ulcers, pressure sores and burns. It is also used for periodontal disease and stomatitis, acute sinusitis, nipple cracks in breast-feeding, as well as bleeding from wounds, eczema or other skin rashes.
Given the pharmacological properties of this juice, it is also used for wounds that do not heal for a long time, in complex preparation for suturing, as well as before skin grafting.
In dental practice, it is used for gingivitis, inflammatory-dystrophic forms of periodontitis or aphthous stomatitis. In the field of obstetrics and gynecology - for the treatment of perineal wounds and its ruptures during childbirth. When used in dentistry, there is one important feature: you need to heat the juice in a water bath to +37 ยฐ C.
I must say that in rare cases, after external use, there may be a burning sensation in the wound area. If such a side effect is manifested, it is recommended to dilute the juice with 2% novocaine.
Since the juice, which is sold in pharmacies and produced in ampoules, is indicated only for external use in the form of lotions, irrigation or applications, an overdose was not noted.
There is another form of release - bottles of 20 ml of juice. It is used inside by a teaspoon, while the juice is diluted in half a glass of warm water and taken an hour before or after a meal. The duration of treatment is up to 5 weeks. If necessary, repeat the course. Internal administration of the drug is indicated for gastritis, gastroduodenitis, chronic colitis. In this case, the dosage must be strictly observed, since otherwise heartburn, diarrhea and allergic reactions occur.
