Club career
He began his career as a professional football player Laurent Blanc in Montpellier. The Frenchman took the position of a midfielder, subsequently proved to be one of the key players and, in addition, the scorer of the team. Together with the club, he rose from the first league to the highest. That was in 1987. The next achievement was the French Cup won in 1990.
In 1991, Laurent Blanc moved to a more titled and famous club - in Napoli. There he played 31 matches and scored six goals. He left the team after the end of the season. He explained this by the fact that he had a strong desire to play for the national team. In 1995/95, he played for FC Auxerre, and with it achieved the honorary status of champion of France. He began his next season in the Catalan “Barcelona” and with it reached the final of the Cup of Cups, winning this trophy as a result. Then he still played for the Marseille “Olympic”, the Italian “Inter” and “Manchester United”. In 2003, he completed his career and decided to engage in coaching.
About an international career
Laurent Blanc, whose photo is presented above, paid great attention to appearances for the French national team. His debut took place in 1989. He showed a good game, but after a fatal defeat for the player on the “Park de Prens” from the Israeli team, he was in some kind of prostration. However, with the support of the new coach, Aime Jacques, Laurent Blanc again believed in himself.
After winning the 1998 World Cup, for some time he stopped playing for the team. But then, after the persuasion of Roger Lemerra, the new national team coach, he returned to the squad. For the team, he played 97 matches and scored 16 goals. By the way, an interesting fact is associated with this player. Having played at one time together, Laurent Blanc and Fabien Barthez, the goalkeeper, were known for their unusual ritual. Each time, Laurent before the match gave the goalkeeper a “smack” in the crown of his head. Tradition! And football players never started training without smoking. Laundry Manchester United in the morning was constantly smoky.
