Ulan-Udestalmost - reliability at the heart of business

CJSC Ulan-Udestalmost is the largest metal structures manufacturing plant in Russia. It was founded in 1973. It is located in the capital of Buryatia - the city of Ulan-Ude.

Metal fabrication at the plant goes through a full production cycle: Ulan-Udestalmost has its own laboratory, which exercises complete control of the input material. Metallurgical products undergo preliminary processing of the material using bead-blasting and dressing. Cutting of metal and high-precision machining is performed on modern equipment with high performance. Products undergo corrosion protection, including waterproofing.

Over the entire history of the plant, over 960 thousand tons of metal structures were produced. The plant’s production facilities are capable of producing up to 3 thousand tons of products monthly and up to 36 thousand tons annually.

The largest facility in the history of the enterprise is the bridge over the Amur River in Khabarovsk. The total weight of the object exceeds 23 thousand tons, length - 2,599 meters, with access roads - 3,891 meters. The bridge combines separate rail and road traffic.

Company workshops

At the Ulan-Udestalmost plant, direct production is carried out in six main workshops. The preparation stage takes place in the procurement workshop; metal rolling processing takes place in the machining workshop. There are two assembly shops at the plant - No. 1 and No. 2, a forging and mechanical workshop, and a workshop for anticorrosion treatment and loading.

The main production process is provided with resources from seven auxiliary workshops: a central factory laboratory, a tool workshop, an electric workshop, a transport workshop, mechanical repair, gas facilities, a technical control department and a railway section.

Support Services

The auxiliary workshops of the plant carry out the adjustment and repair of machine equipment. They supply the main production with electricity, oxygen, compressed air, cold and hot water, as well as a mixture of protective gases and lumber.

The boiler house “Ulan-Udestalmost” provides the workshop infrastructure with heat. The plant has its own storage facilities with railway access.

Quality System and Certification

In 2001, a quality management department was established at the plant. The prerequisites for the creation of this structural unit as part of Ulan-Uestalmost were growing competition in the market and the need to meet new quality standards.

The plant developed and implemented a quality management system, which in 2004 was awarded the certificate of compliance with the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2001 under No. 01827.

On February 13, 2004, the trademark of the plant was registered in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Eastern Siberia.

Currently, the Quality Management Department performs the function of standardization and quality control in the enterprise.

The equipment of the company is certified by the ISSO center of Russian Railways. Each unit of production is supplied with a passport of equipment.

The plant uses machine tools from leading manufacturers from the USA, Italy, Japan, Germany and France for cutting, assembling, cleaning, drilling and corrosion protection.
