Anyone who has ever grown vegetables, knows: to get a tasty and juicy crop, you need to work hard. Taking up the cultivation of tomatoes, a lot of actions should be done - from preparing seedlings and soil, to watering and bait plants. One of the main points is to choose the right fertilizer for the tomato. It is important to study when and how to enter them.
Fertilizers for tomatoes at the initial stage
The first thing to achieve a good harvest is to take care of the seedlings. In order to ensure its high quality, magnetized or degassed water should be used in addition to fertilizers. It is good to water the collected precipitation after rain or melted snow.
Growing seedlings without picking, by adding, fertilizers should be mixed with soil mixture. It consists of phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium substances. For 1 bucket, 30 g of the first, 10 g of the second and 15 g of the third substances listed above are used. Organic fertilizers for seedlings must be fermented. When watering plants, it should be borne in mind that the abundant flow of fluid leaches beneficial substances and leads to diseases of seedlings.
Top dressing is carried out in two ways:
- 14 days after the pick. Then, with an interval of half a month until the seedlings are planted. The last top dressing is performed 2 days before planting in the ground.
- If seedlings are grown without picking, then when the 3rd formed leaf appears. The further interval is the same as in the first method.
The best and easiest fertilizer is organic fertilizers for tomatoes. Mullein or bird droppings are ideal for this. To prepare such top dressing, it is necessary to add fertilizers to the bucket of water (not to top up to 5-10 cm), at the rate of 1: 2. Next, the container is left near the seedlings for a couple of days for fermentation. When this process is over and the contents of the bucket returns to its original level, fertilizer can be used.
At the first feeding, the fermented mullein is diluted with a 1: 7 liquid, litter - 1:12. With the further introduction of fertilizers, weaker doses should be made. For example, for one part of the water, 5 servings of mullein or litter in a ratio of 1:10. Before using such a fertilizer for tomatoes, you must add superphosphate in an amount of 10 g to a ten-liter capacity.
The feeding rate is as follows: 7 l of the composition per 1 m² of area. If the mixture fell on the leaves, then they must be washed, as burns can form on them. When feeding for the third time, it is necessary to add potassium and phosphorus to fertilizers for tomatoes. This is done in order to increase the cold resistance of crops.
Fertilizer for tomato after planting in the soil
500-1000 g of compost or humus, 5 g of superphosphate and a handful of ash are added to the soil before planting in each well. To get a rich harvest, it is necessary to saturate the tomatoes with mineral substances in a timely manner. On average, 2 top dressings are carried out from the moment of planting in the soil until the tomato ripens. Introduce nutrients along with watering. The first top dressing is carried out when the first bunch of culture begins to bloom en masse. It consists of potassium sulfate and superphosphate 15 g each, and 10 liters of water. This fertilizer for tomatoes is used at the rate of 5-6 liters per 1 m².
The second top dressing occurs when a significant portion of the fruit begins to pour. The feeding composition is as follows: 50 g of ammonium sulfate, 10 l of water and 15 g of superphosphate. The consumption of the mixture is the same as during the first feeding.
