Alexander Avdeenko is a writer who was born in 1908 in the village. Now it is the Ukrainian city of Makeevka, Donetsk region. Comes from the family of a miner worker. In childhood, the future writer was a homeless child. Later he worked at the mines in the Donbass. He worked in Makeevka at a factory called Union. Later he went to Magnitogorsk. There he worked on the construction of the MMK I.V. Stalin. He served as assistant locomotive driver. He became a member of a literary group called "Tug".

In 1933 he made his debut in large literature. It was in the Gorky almanac called "Year XVI." There was released the novel "I Love". He later appeared in Soviet Literature and Profizdat. He took part in a trip of a group of writers to the BBK I.V. Stalin. In 1934, he acted as a delegate to the First All-Union Congress of Writers. There he was accepted into the joint venture of the USSR. During a speech at the said congress, M. Gorky particularly noted the work of our hero “I Love”.

The next important year in the biography of the writer is 1935. Then he delivered a speech at the VII All-Union Congress of Soviets. The theme was: "For which I applauded Comrade Stalin." Then he noted that he is a writer, so he dreams of creating a truly unforgettable work.

Our hero lived in Moscow. He was a student of the Literary Institute. He worked in the editorial office of the newspaper Pravda. A new novel called "The Capital" was criticized by Gorky. In 1936, at the suggestion of S. Ordzhonikidze, he went to Donbass. He lived in Makeevka. Worked on creating a new miners novel called “The State is Me.” The book was completed in 1938, but was never published.

Our hero was elected a deputy of the All-Ukrainian Congress of Soviets. Later, his position changed. He became a deputy of the city council Makeevka. In 1939, as a special correspondent for Pravda, he traveled to the territory of annexed Western Ukraine. In 1940, according to the script of our hero, the picture "The Law of Life" was shot. This tape has been crushingly criticized by the party press. The reason was called defamation of student Soviet youth. After the meeting of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, our hero was expelled from the Union of Writers and the Party, and also fired from the newspaper Pravda. The author’s overwhelming criticism was voiced by Central Committee secretaries Joseph Stalin and Andrei Zhdanov, as well as writers Alexander Fadeev, Nikolai Pogodin and Nikolai Aseev.

After the exceptions, he began working again at the mine as an assistant engineer. In 1941, according to the writer's recollections, he was not taken to the front as a volunteer. He was listed in the political composition, and the demotion of our hero to the rank and file took several months. The lieutenant left the mortar school. He joined the army only in 1942.

According to the son of our hero, he began to write for various front-line newspapers. Essays unsuccessfully sent to the "Red Star". This continued until one of the works (“Atonement with Blood”) David Ortenberg, the editor of the newspaper, very risky, sent to Stalin. This essay was about a former officer who accomplished a feat in a penal battalion. At night, a call came from Stalin, he said that the work could be published, and its author atoned for guilt. So the writer returned to the world of literature. After that, he managed to write many books, but he still did not get rid of the pain caused by the unjust punishment, although he believed in the ideas of socialism. He trusted Stalin no less than that until he knew the whole truth about the actions of the commander in chief.

The writer’s son recalls that one day, after a heart attack, his father began talking about Stalin. Then he asked the writer to think about himself. To which our hero replied that he could not let Stalin go. From 1942 to 1945, the author of the books was at the front, receiving the post of war correspondent for a newspaper called For the Fatherland, which appeared in 131 divisions. Then he began to work in the publication “Son of the Motherland”.
