Black screen when loading Windows 7: how to fix?

Currently, a considerable number of Windows 7 users have met with new misfortune. This convenient operating system, capable of automatic updates, is quickly gaining popularity. But so far it’s really not as smooth as we would like. And a misfortune such as a black screen when loading Windows 7 is becoming more common. Often the problem begins to appear after one of the automatic updates. Although this version of events is unofficial, a certain assumption on the part of Microsoft is still present.

However, Microsoft themselves persistently deny this fact and are still conducting research, not hastily issuing conclusions. And, most importantly, somehow help users with the resolution of the problem. However, a security hole allows malware to make changes to the system. Or rather - in the holy of holies, registry. After such an intervention, the same notorious black screen appears when loading Windows 7.

The reason that causes a black screen when starting Windows 7

Independent experts have already conducted their own expertise. In its course, it turned out that the main trouble lies in some features of the registry data storage that the new system has. Vulnerability refers to Shell. With some changes, it is not processed correctly, which results in a frightening black screen when loading Windows 7. Wallpaper, taskbar, side panels - nothing loads. In rare cases, you can only see the window of the conductor, and then if it is not minimized. Otherwise, the latter will also sink into the unknown.

Solution

How to eliminate the black screen when loading Windows 7? There are several ways to solve this unpleasant problem. Unfortunately, most of them were ineffective. The most popular option, which has successfully established itself and has helped more than a dozen users, is as follows. The combination of three keys (Shift + Ctrl + Esc) should call the task manager. The command to execute a new task is selected in it (file -> execute). After these steps, a window should open in which you need to enter the regedit command.

This command invokes and allows you to view the registry editor. We will need the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-> SOFTWARE-> Microsoft-> WindowsNT-> CurrentVersion-> Winlogon branch. On the right, its contents will appear, where it remains to find the notorious Shell key and double-click on it with the left mouse button. All that should be in the window that opens after this is the single value “explorer.exe”. Perhaps there will be meanings with other names. All of them can (and even need) to be deleted.

If no extra values were found, the Shell key itself must be deleted and recreated. Make it easy. In the area where the key was located, you need to right-click the mouse and open the corresponding menu. It will have the option to "create". We need to create a string parameter with the same name as the remote key (Shell).

Black screen when loading Windows xp

This phenomenon is also not uncommon. A black screen here may occur after installing the third Windows Service Pack 3 (Service Pack 3). Or the first one that they are trying to install on top of Service Pack 2. Incompatibility of some elements of the system causes similar problems during booting. The appearance of the downloaded image is the same as in the case of problems with Windows 7: a completely black screen without any icons, launch pad or background. Only the conductor icon remains.

The most common cause of a blank black screen is the presence of dangerous viruses in the system. The elimination in this case is connected with ridding the computer of this scourge. For the solution, a small Prevx patch is used, which takes only about 50 KB. Convenience lies in the fact that when you start the program itself produces all the necessary actions. Sometimes system recovery from a boot disk helps.

Another good utility is called Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. It is suitable for owners of any Windows operating system and will check their system for viruses. After all, even the best and most reliable anti-virus program does not guarantee absolute protection. Therefore, it does not hurt to check the contents of the computer with a specialized utility for detecting Trojan viruses.
