In this club, Musa showed his striking qualities, becoming the best goalscorer of the championship of Nigeria (18 goals in 25 matches).
It so happened in recent decades that any African football player, who scored a dozen or more goals in the championship of his country, already considers himself ripe for a career in some solid European club, where, if successful, the amount of the annual personal contract is much larger than those pennies, what he will get for the entire period of performances at home.
So, probably, Ahmed decided, moving in 2010 to the average Dutch club VVV-Venlo. Unlike many of his compatriots, he played immediately. And he began to play so that already at the end of the season he became an object of interest on the part of Ajax, Tottenham and other teams with a tighter wallet. In his first season for the new club, he won 23 matches, scored 5 goals. At the end of 2011, the management of VVV-Venlo announced a number of proposals for the player from leading teams in Germany, England and Russia. And on the seventh of January 2012, the Dutch club reached an agreement with CSKA on the transfer of Ahmed to the Moscow team. The player’s transfer amount was 5 million euros. Venlo received money, and the army club received a young promising player. The contract is valid for 5 years.

The debut match for the metropolitan team for the Nigerian football player took place on February 21. He had a duel in the Champions League with Real Madrid. And on March 3, Musa also played his first meeting in the Russian championship against Zenit. And not just played, but scored a goal, which allowed CSKA to get away from defeat.
In the 2012/13 season, serious injuries rained down on leading army attackers. Tomas Necid and Seydou Doumbia went out of order for a long period . To save the situation, Ahmed Musa was called. The footballer tried his best. Almost all of his goals became points. At the end of the championship, Ahmed became the best CSKA goalscorer, scoring 11 goals. This allowed him to become the third scorer of the 2012/13 season.
The following year brought the player the first club titles. He became the champion and owner of the Russian Super Cup. He entrenched in the main part of the army team, which allowed Ahmed to be called up to the Nigeria national team to participate in the 2014 World Cup. There he played 4 matches at the base and, having scored two goals, became the top scorer of his team. Although Nigeria lost to the French national team in the 1/8 finals, the performance was considered successful at home.
In the summer of 2015, Ahmed Musa, whose biography describes his rich career, signed a new agreement with the Moscow team. Now he will play for CSKA until 2019.
