Firewall is one of the necessary systems to protect our system from unauthorized exposure to third-party services and programs. It can be built-in plan (standard Windows Firewall) and installed (most often these are provided by developers of anti-virus systems). This protection method very often creates a lot of trouble for users, especially when your operating system is unlicensed, or if you install some kind of third-party product. The question of how to disable the firewall is brewing by itself? Consider ways to solve it below.
If we are talking about the standard version, for example, the Windows 7 firewall or the same good old XP, then here people are usually limited to the most typical option - I went into the control panel and "knocked out" it. However, in fact, the function is stopped, but the processes are not. How to disable the firewall in this case completely?
There are several methods to accomplish this. The first of them rests on working with the command line. Let's take a closer look at it:
1. In the active window for the execution of tasks, write the command “services.msc” and press the “Enter” button (it is also “Enter”).
2. You will see a special window where you should find the line “Windows Firewall”.
3. Using the right button of your mouse, call up the functional menu and select “Properties”.
4. Here, in the "General" tab, we find the "Startup Type" column and select the "Disabled" parameter in it.
5. It remains at the bottom to click on the “Stop” button to finally interrupt the process.
6. After we confirm all the operations performed by clicking on the “OK” button.
In principle, this is all, however, as practice shows, and in this case, processes that do not want to turn off often skip. Let's analyze the second method, how to disable the firewall, which is based on disabling profiles. If you look at the “Advanced Settings”, it will become clear that the network connections of the three profiles are still working, while the central functionality is disabled (this is explained by the rules for creating user profiles that need to be “chopped off” after changes to the system). In other words, our firewall still partially works.
We take the following actions:
1. Open the properties of the firewall.
2. Four profiles are available here, but we are only interested in three of them: general, private and domain profile.
3. In each one, in the column “Firewall Status”, select the line “Disable”.
4. Do not forget to save your choice by pressing the "OK" key.
5. It remains only to verify how effective our actions were. To do this, go back to the "Advanced Settings" and look at the appropriate columns, where it should be written that these functions are inactive.
Thus, we completely disabled the built-in firewall from the Windows company by two methods.
Now consider another problem that users encounter during various actions, for example, at the time of launching network and standard computer games and various programs that unscrupulously climb into the network without our consent or try to involve some processes, resulting in a certain collapse. So, gamers often write something like “I can’t start the game, please help,” etc.
The first advice that a concerned person is given is to disable the firewall. We have already figured out how to disable the standard type firewall (although it does not complicate the launch of games and programs), but the installed protection systems, which are bundled with antivirus programs or separately from them, is another matter.
In fact, there is nothing complicated. If we are talking about a separate firewall of any type, then it is usually disabled in a couple of clicks. The active icon is located on the side right panel between the time and language selection. It is enough to right-click on it and select the “Disable / Stop / Exit” function or something similar.
If we are talking about a full-fledged anti-virus system, for example, Doctor Web, then there is an option to “chop off” the entire antivirus as well as separately disable the firewall by selecting the appropriate item and confirming your intention.
