Futsal: the rules of the game from FIFA. What should be the ball for futsal

To date, one of the fastest growing and growing sports is futsal. The rules of the game make it both dynamic and unpredictable. That is why the attention of people around the world is riveted to this sport.

Futsal history

Futsal is a team game, tournaments which are held according to the rules similar to big football. In fact, this sport is usually divided relative to associations. There is a traditional UEFA futsal subordinate to both FIFA and AMF. Both species are officially registered, but it is not worthwhile to draw parallels between them, since they do not intersect in competitions. They also have significantly different rules.

Futsal under the auspices of FIFA is called futsal. This is a less contact and more combinational sport than its "brother." A similar game under the auspices of AMF was called futsal. Until the 1980s, both species coexisted as a whole. However, after the disagreements of the football associations FIFUSA and PANAFUTSAL, it was decided to finally divide them and give them under patronage to the higher federations. AMF and FIFA began to dominate in parallel over new sports .

General rules of the game

Futsal is a team game (5 participants from each side, including the goalkeeper). The situation is similar in futsal.

The duration of the game in both forms is 2 halves of 20 minutes. The timekeeper counts only ā€œcleanā€ time. The number of replacements is unlimited.

During the match on the court there must be at least 3 players in futsal (and one more according to AMF rules). Also, in both forms, coaches are allowed to take 1 timeout.

5-meter penalty kicks in futsal are played in 5 pieces. Further blows make their way to a miss. In futsal penalty kicks are performed by 3 players. Then the winner also determines until the first miss.

Site and Gate Standards

In the futsal game, the rules say that the field should be 28 to 40 meters long and 16 to 20 meters wide, respectively. The penalty area is a semicircle with a diameter of 15.16 m. The zone is extended 6 meters from the goal line, as well as from each of the rods. At the edges of the penalty area is rounded. The length of the gate is 3 m and the height is 2 m.

In futsal, a playground can be 25 to 42 m long and 14 to 25 m wide. Standards for official competitions are 40 by 20 meters. The dimensions of the penalty area are the same as in futsal. The height of the gate should be equal to 2 m. The distance between the booms is 3 meters.

Ball standards and dimensions

In any sport, the main attribute is a projectile. Here it is a round ball. For a futsal, its circumference should not be more than 60 cm. In amateur sports a smaller ball is used (58 cm).

In futsal, the weight of the projectile can vary from 430 to 460 grams. In children's and women's categories, this indicator is reduced to 380 g. The pressure in the ball should be in the range of 0.6-0.7 atmospheres, that is, so that the first rebound from the surface when falling from 2 meters is no more than 50 cm.

In futsal, the circumference of a projectile varies from 62 to 64 cm. Moreover, its weight can be either 400 or 440 grams. The pressure in the ball should not exceed 0.6 atmospheres (the minimum threshold is 0.4 at.). It is important that the rebound does not exceed 45 cm when falling from 2 m.

Violations and Punishments

The calculation of team fouls in futsal (FIFA) begins on the 6th in a row. Penalty kicks are taken from the place of violation. The opponent has the right to put a wall of all field players. If a foul has been committed within the penalty area or in someone else's half of the field, the blow is made from a 10-meter mark.

The main difference between the AMF futsal is the ban on building the wall and shifting the ball’s point of entry 1 m closer to the opponent’s goal. Personal fouls in this sport are punishable by a side kick. In futsal such violations are not taken into account.

In both forms, for rough personal fouls, players are given yellow cards. If you get them for the match 2 pieces, then the meeting participant will be removed from the field. The most serious punishment is a direct red card.

In the futsal game, the rules for removing a player provide for the possibility of immediate replacement with a substitute team member. Here a red card is given for 5 technical fouls or an extremely serious violation. In futsal, the player retires before the end of the meeting, but a substitute may take his place on the field. Replacement is allowed only 2 minutes after disqualification of the offender.

Goal definition

In futsal, a goal scored is only counted if it has completely crossed the goal line. An abandoned shell with a hand is not a goal unless it touched one of the players along the way.

In the futsal game, rules allow all kinds of goals scored. A goal is counted if the shell crosses the goal line after being kicked or thrown by a standard or goalkeeper.

It is noteworthy that in futsal you can score goals only from outside the opponent’s penalty area.

Standard provisions

The rules of the futsal game allow you to enter the ball because of the sideline with two hands. In a similar sport, under the auspices of FIFA, out is performed with only one foot.

In the futsal AMF, the ball during a corner kick is entered with two hands, movement from behind the head. A goal from this standard position does not count. In the FIFA futsal, a corner kick is performed by the foot. The goal is scored, even if the ball didn’t hit anyone along the way.

The minimum distance from the opponent’s wall to the projectile during any standard position in the futsal should be 4 meters. According to the rules of FIFA, this distance is 5 m.
