How to eat avocado

Today on the shelves of even small shops there are many exotic fruits and vegetables, among which, perhaps, the leading place is occupied by avocados. What is this “overseas guest” eating with?

The simplest recipe is guacamole. This beautiful word denotes a classic Mexican sauce, which is prepared from alligator pear, lemon juice. How is avocado used for this sauce? Very simple. The fruit is peeled, cut into very small pieces or blended, mixed with lemon nipple, salted, pepper is added. The resulting sauce can be used as an additive to chips, meat, and any other dishes. However, such a seasoning can be given any taste if other products are added to the described base. Some cooks are against mixing avocados with herbs: they believe that the pungent smell of oregano, basil, watercress or cilantro will kill the delicate aroma of the fruit. Others are sure that such additives only enrich the taste of overseas fruit. Therefore, the question of how to eat avocados remains open. Only one thing can be said for sure: Avocados are eaten raw. During heat treatment, it becomes bitter and loses all its useful qualities. It is also important to know that too much of this fruit can lead to negative consequences: bloating, indigestion. However, any product can lead to such troubles if you eat too much of it. Therefore, at least one answer to the question of how to eat avocados exists: in moderation and with caution.

I really like not only guacamole, but also a variety of salads with Perseus (also called alligator pear). It’s easy to cook them, it’s more difficult to choose the “right” fruit. In the shops of our city most often they sell solid, like stones, fruits brought from different countries. The highest quality, sweet-tender - Israeli fruits. But others can also be used as food if you let them mature in a warm place.

For any salad, you need to take a soft and tender fruit, in which the stone can be easily separated. How to eat avocado? Cut in half, carefully peel, separate the bone. Halves are convenient cups for salad.

It can be made from cottage cheese with celery and pineapple. This is a great option for those who want to lose weight, but are not able to refuse “goodies”. The salad is prepared simply. Pineapple (fresh or canned), a celery stalk, green onion, herbs are carefully chopped, mixed with cottage cheese, seasoned with spices, pepper, salt. The resulting mass is laid out in halves of Perseus. It turns out satisfying on the one hand, and low-calorie on the other. You do not need to fill the filling: avocado has an oily consistency, which completely replaces sour cream or mayonnaise. If the recipe is slightly modified, you get an excellent paste, which you can take to work. To prepare such a paste, all of the above components are simply blended, put in a small container and put in the refrigerator for a while. And at work, the mixture can be spread on crispbread or diet bread. It turns out a great alternative to pies and pastries.

In general, for me, the question of how to eat avocados does not exist. I love its buttery delicate taste so much that I use it almost everywhere: in salads, savory foods, soufflés. By the way, the last dish is less and less prepared, but in vain. There is nothing complicated about it.

First, whip separately the cream and egg whites with powdered sugar. Then blend the avocados. Mix in a mixer proteins, cream, puree from alligator pear, add lemon juice (I sometimes replace it with freshly squeezed cherry). The resulting mixture is laid out in tins and put in the refrigerator. Before serving treats, soufflés are decorated with slices of fresh fruit. Even children like this treat. Give it a try!
