Today there are so many file formats that it is not always immediately clear how to open them. Very often this situation is observed with FWD format files . What kind of information is this, and how to open such files, not every user of a modern computer system knows. Let's try to figure out what's what.
FWD format - what is it?
In general, quite often there is the problem of opening files with the same extension, but related to different programs with which they were created initially. In this regard, the FWD format is no exception. What is this format?
There are at least two basic concepts about this type of file. Firstly, it can be a specific graphic file, and secondly, such an extension can have an e-mail file that was created by a certain program. Which associations corresponding to this extension can occur most often, we will consider in more detail.
The main type of file format FWD
In most cases, especially if the file you are looking for is of a significant enough size, it belongs to the latest graphic format, something similar to the DGVU, LuraDocument and JPEG2000 / Part6 standards, which are designed to create graphic publications of electronic books, documents, diagrams, flow charts, manuscripts or even logos.
The format itself is based on a unique technique for dividing objects into original color layers (text layer, image layer, background layer, etc.). FWD Email Format
If we talk about e-mail, then this type of data can be correlated with the program Dubya, which is a regular e-mail client. As already clear, it has support for the FWD format. What is this, explain a little more.
In fact, you can decrypt the FWD file extension as forwarded mail, roughly speaking "reply to the received message" (only in standard clients it is displayed as FW :, and in our case - FWD). Accordingly, it will be necessary to open such files with just such a program, although its developers themselves argue that in some cases such actions can be performed using clients like Outlook or Eudora.
However, here you can do a little easier. As you know, in any Windows system, just double-click on the desired file in the "Explorer" or in any other file manager, so that if there is no association, the system itself will offer the user the most suitable program for opening to choose. The same, incidentally, applies to the use of the "Open with ..." command. If no application can open such files, you will have to use original software products.

So, we have the FWD format. How to open it, I think, based on the foregoing, it is already clear. The only thing worth paying attention to is the size of the file you are looking for. It is clear, after all, that the message in the e-mail program and the graphic drawing (even if it is compressed a thousand times) differ in size quite strongly.
However, for example, to open a graphic file, you can try to use a conventional photo viewer (image) or some kind of graphic editor (viewer). But in this case, it is better to choose some serious software package or utility.
