In any kind of martial arts racks occupy a major role. They are taught to beginners in the first place. Therefore, in order to study them, you must first know what they are and what they are for.
What it is?
This is the most convenient position of a fighter, allowing you to successfully carry out attacks, defense or any other tricks.
During the battle, the participant can change the stance. After all, each enemy needs an individual approach. Depending on the physical indicators of both the fighter and his opponent, the stance will differ as follows:
- hand position;
- body tilt;
- tension of the abdomen;
- tilting the head;
- the width of the legs.
It is worth noting that the visibility of the enemy and the protection of those areas where the blows most often occur: the head, the region of the liver and intestines, depend on exactly what stance the fighter will be in. Now let's move on to the analysis of racks in the main types of martial arts.
In boxing
There are two main fighting stances in boxing - left and right. As a rule, the choice among them depends on the strongest hand of the fighter, that is, on whether the athlete is left-handed or right-handed. However, experienced fighters equally possess both positions.
Left-side rack is as follows.
Tape two parallel lines in your footsteps with tape. Put your right foot back and turn both feet about 35-45 degrees to the right side of the starting position. During attacking actions, about 60% of the weight must be transferred to the front - left foot, while during the defense it is just the opposite. The body itself is stably leaned back, but the body weight between the legs is distributed almost evenly.
Then bend your arms at the elbows and with a movement of the shoulders try to cover the body as much as possible. Sometimes you even need to bend a little. But you should know that this can make breathing difficult and constrain movements. The left fist is slightly raised and is in front.
The main parameters of the rack in the box
Main parameters:
- Head slightly down.
- The left fist protrudes forward and protects the mouth, chin and chest.
- The left shoulder needs to be raised slightly to protect the left side of the chin.
- The fist of the right hand is located near the chin so that the elbow covers the area of ββthe liver.
- Shoulders cover chest.
- The stomach is in tension, slightly hidden by the elbows.
- It is necessary to stand on slightly bent legs - the right one is bent slightly stronger in order to give an impulse for attack at any moment.
- The left leg is tense more, and the emphasis is on the front of her foot.
- The whole body, pelvis and feet are slightly turned to the right.
As for the right-handed stance, it is a little more dangerous in the sense that the area of ββthe liver is closer to the enemy. According to the technology, the right-side rack is completely mirrored left-side.
In general, it is worth noting that the whole body of a fighter should be assembled and a little tense. Hands as well as shoulders should not be lowered, and the head should always be kept slightly pressed to the chest to prevent getting into the jaw and other dangerous areas.
Stance in hand-to-hand combat
This type of martial arts is very difficult in technical terms, so here we will analyze the main fighting stance in hand-to-hand combat.
The entire body weight of the athlete is transferred to the hind leg, which is rotated 90 degrees. The body weight of the soldier is transferred to the socks, and his body is either directed directly at the enemy, or deployed at 45 degrees - depending on the situation. The stand can be high, medium, and low. In the case of the left-handed stance, the left hand is slightly lowered while the right hand is near the head.
main parameters
- The right hand is pressed to the body and covers the neck, head, stomach.
- The left shoulder is slightly raised.
- The right forearm may touch the middle of the body to protect it.
- The head is lowered slightly to the chest to protect the jaw.
- The right elbow protects the liver area.
- The left leg is free and moves easily.
- The right leg is always in tension.
- The left hand is forward and covers the stomach.
- The elbow of the left hand protects the central region of the body.
- The knee of the left leg is slightly raised to protect the groin.
- The head is not strained to make dodges from blows.
- It is possible to immediately change the rack.
- It is necessary to maintain balance.
Itβs worth mastering such stances only if the fighter plans to engage in hand-to-hand combat professionally, because they require proven skills and, if used improperly, will play against him.
The most important thing in any hand-to-hand fighting stance is to allow the fighter to quickly and efficiently perform tricks of varying difficulty, as well as successfully repel enemy attacks.
Karate fighting stance
In karate, a large number of racks, and they all have their own characteristics. Consider the main ones.
- Musubi dachas. Hands along the body, or slightly to the sides. The body is straightened. Socks together, feet apart at an angle of 90 degrees.
- Zenkutsu-dachi. The foot of the front leg, like the whole leg, looks forward. The back foot is turned outward by about 35-45 degrees. Body weight is distributed so that the front leg is tensed slightly stronger than the back, and its knee is bent so that the lower leg is perpendicular to the surface. The body is straightened and slightly deployed, hands are near the belt. The width of the legs is equal to the width of the shoulders.
- Kokuttsu cottages. The stance is identical to the previous one in everything except for the center of gravity displaced back and the position of the legs, as shown in the figure below. The entire forefoot is on the surface, the toe is deployed forward. The foot of the back leg is turned outward perpendicular to the front. Both knees are slightly bent. About 80% of the body weight is on the hind leg, while the front leg is almost relaxed. The housing is straightened and turned 45 degrees. Hands near the belt.
- Nekoashi cottages. Most of the body weight falls on the leg set back, while the front leg is practically not loaded. The hind leg is bent at the knee, and the foot is turned outward at 45 degrees. The forefoot is on the toe so that the lower leg is perpendicular to the surface. One arm is extended forward while the other is closer to the body. The body is straightened, the shoulders are deployed. The knee of the hind leg looks at the opponent.
Each of these stands is very technical (like everything else in karate), so they are best studied in the presence of a trainer. He will help you adjust the details and give the necessary advice.
Conclusion
Training a fighting stance is an immersion in martial arts. Whatever it may be, special attention should be paid to its study, since it is on it that a lot of important aspects of conducting a battle depend.
It is best to work out any racks, standing near the mirror at a distance of 1.5-2 meters. And the most important thing in this business is patience and stability. After all, each rack is unique in its own way and in order to master it perfectly, it is necessary to constantly develop even the most insignificant details.
