For fun, forgetful, inattentive, eccentric, we call "people scattered from the street Basseinaya." We say the same to children who leave hats or books in school, shoes in sports halls, dolls, balls, cars on playgrounds ... However, from modern little readers, far from everyone knows this mysterious person with whom they are compared.
To the history of creation
“This is what is scattered from Basseynaya Street” - perhaps the most favorite poem of our grandmothers and mothers. Without it, it is just as impossible to imagine their childhood as without Cinderella, the Snow Queen, Winnie the Pooh or the Kid with
Carlson. Its
author is Samuel Marshak, a wonderful poet, whose works brought up not a single generation of Soviet children. The story of how a man lived scattered from the street Basseinaya, recognized as the most popular work of the poet. Coming to readers in 1930, the book with its funny character has since survived dozens of reprints and translations into many languages. The charm of magnificent lines was also added by wonderful illustrations by the artist Konashevich. It was for them that the audience imagined how the hero looks - scattered from Basseinaya Street.
The author and his hero
People who knew Marshak closely, not without reason, claimed that the author was somewhat similar to the image he had invented, and he repeatedly returned to it in his work. Apparently, the poet was interested in such personalities: somewhat ridiculous, funny eccentrics, extraordinary, their behavior violating a boring, familiar life. Samuil Yakovlevich, sometimes quite eccentric, sometimes became exactly the same as a
person scattered from Basseynaya Street. In 1975, the Ekran creative association filmed a cartoon based on a poem.
From image to plot
The plot of the poem can be considered epic, as it includes a change of events, and a certain development. Based on the principle of a rhymed narrative, its composition has an exposition, or an introduction, then an internal movement, a climax and an epilogue.
What does the Marshak tell about the hero? Scattered from the street Basseinoy lives in Leningrad, most likely in a communal apartment. The neighbors are accustomed to his eccentricities and, apparently, do not pay attention to them. Only occasionally correct, when it is completely absent-minded that violates the usual stereotypes. Instead of a shirt, the hero puts on trousers, and instead of a hat, he tries to jam a frying pan on the top of his head, and his coat “pockets” someone else’s. Why is this happening, because the verse "Scattered from Basseinaya Street" about a very ordinary person? The thing is that the hero is overly focused on some thoughts, only he knows, how Marshak himself was always tuned into a poetic wave of creativity. And remember the jokes about chess players, professors, representatives of other professions, constantly immersed in an interesting sphere! There will be untied laces, and colorful shoes, and trips to the wrong place! By the way, the scattered person also sets off on a journey - by train on the route Leningrad - Moscow. What came of this - you can find out by reading the work!
The exact address
One more question remains: "What kind of street is this in Leningrad - Basseinaya?" On which card can I read its name? Sorry: there is no such street on the modern city map. There really was such a topographic object, but only in St. Petersburg. And since 1818, the street received another name - Nekrasova. It passes through the city center, from the famous
Liteiny Prospekt to Grechesky. Back in the 18th century there were pools, from which water was supplied to the magnificent fountains in the Summer Garden. A century later, the pools were replaced by Greek Square. Then the street was renamed in honor of Nekrasov, because the great poet lived here for 20 years. Perhaps that is why - in memory of the famous fellow writer - and Marshak settled here a scattered man ...
