Stages of the football path

Wojciech started playing football at the age of 10. The first team of the football player was the Vigra club (Suwalki), where the boy was brought by his best friend. And since all the guys in the team were two years older, and, accordingly, stronger, the shy teenager was identified at the gate. Here in the team "Wigry" and began to comprehend the basics of goalkeeper skill Wojciech Kowalewski.

In 1998, Wojciech, having received an offer from one of the grandees of Polish football of the Warsaw team “Legia”, moved to the capital. In “Legia” as a young promising goalkeeper, he spent three years on the bench, after which he was leased to the club “Discobolia” to acquire game practice. Here things went hilarious. He played 15 matches for the new team and managed to declare himself as a goalkeeper with certain prospects.

Kowalewski began the 2001/2002 season with the main goalkeeper of Legia. He played 16 matches of the Polish championship, after which for a decent amount he moved to one of the richest clubs in Eastern Europe - Donetsk Shakhtar. Here he took place as a goalkeeper, won his first club trophies, perfectly mastered the Russian language.

By the way, Wojciech, unlike many Brazilian (and not only) Shakhtar legionnaires, has a decent education, and, accordingly, is an erudite person. He once graduated from high school with a gold medal, studied at the Institute of Economics.

Lost post No. 1 at Shakhtar Wojciech on September 17, 2002. On this day, after the crushing defeat of the miners from the Vienna “Austria”, the goalkeeper of the Donetsk team was recognized as the main culprit of the failure. Jan Lashtuvka settled in the gate, and Wojciech Kowalewski began to slowly look for a new team.

In 2003, he signed a contract with the Moscow club Spartak. For the metropolitan team, the goalkeeper played for five seasons. During this period, Wojciech has become a bastion of stability and reliability for Spartak. In 2004 and 2005, he was recognized as the best player in the capital's club. In the 2005 season, his excellent game allowed red and white to win silver medals in the Russian Championship, and therefore the team’s management gave the goalkeeper a Hammer car.

Wojciech Kowalewski where he lives

The trouble with Wojciech was that throughout his football career he was not stable. Having played flawlessly for a season or two, he experienced an inevitable recession, due to which both Legia, Shakhtar, and Spartak suffered at one time.

At the end of 2006, Wojciech Kowalewski lost his place in the main team. He was replaced by the new goalkeeper of the club Stipe Pletikosa. In 2008, Wojciech returns to Poland. Here he, having well established himself as a goalkeeper of the Korona club, gets into the application as the third goalkeeper of the national team for participation in the 2008 European Championship. After the tournament is over, he goes to the Greek club Iraklis. Having played three seasons in the championship of Greece (25 matches, 23 goals conceded), Kowalewski returns to Russia. He tries himself in the Sibir team, but having missed 32 goals in 14 matches, he is put up for transfer.

The goalkeeper ended his playing career in the modest Greek club Anorthosis. Here he played one match of the championship of Greece and started with great football. He played his farewell match in Poland on June 15, 2013.

Summing up the goalkeeper's club career, we must admit that the most favorable and successful union was Wojciech Kowalewski - Spartak. He was loved in Moscow, he was an idol of fans of the capital's team, here he was honored to play in the match for the national team of the Russian championship legionnaires.

Trophies and Achievements

Over the years of performances, Wojciech Kowalewski became the champion and winner of the national Cups of Poland and Ukraine, the silver medalist and finalist of the Cup and Super Cup of Russia. In 2005, he was included in the list of “33 best football players of the Russian championship”. In 2004/05, he was the owner of the Golden Boar Award.

What is Wojciech Kowalewski doing now? Where does he live, what does he do? Judging by the interview of the goalkeeper himself, in 2012 he opened a children's football academy in Poland. At first it was located in Suwalki, in the homeland of Wojciech, after the project was developed in other cities. His goal is to find football nuggets in the lower leagues of Polish football.
