The Tyumen Battery Plant (TAZ) is the leading domestic enterprise producing batteries for the automotive industry, industrial equipment, railway transport, telecommunications systems, power plants, compressor plants and other facilities. Unlike small manufacturers, the company does not save on the quality of products, its products are certified and meet the requirements of GOST. Products are distributed under the Tyumen-Battery brand.
Becoming
The history of the Tyumen Battery Plant is closely connected with the Second World War. At the end of 1941, trains with equipment from Podolsk near Moscow arrived in a Siberian city. An order was received to immediately expand the production of batteries so much needed by the army and the rear structures.
It took only two months for the first batch of scarce products to be shipped to consumers. In subsequent years, output reached 100,000 units. In fact, the TAZ was the only major manufacturer of batteries for various purposes.
70-80s
The rebirth of the Tyumen Battery Plant took place in 1971. Production facilities were rebuilt, the latest equipment was installed. However, the nomenclature was not very wide - only four types of products were made in the workshops.
In 1985, an Austrian line was purchased for the enterprise, which made it possible to master the production of the only one of its kind in the USSR maintenance-free batteries with a capacity of 55 a / h. For this class of batteries, molding of plastic monoblocks was established.
At the crossroads
In the late 1980s, Soviet industry was seized by a systemic crisis. Specialized enterprises suspended their work due to inflation and non-payments. The Tyumen battery plant was lucky - in 1987, the talented leader A.V. Korelyakov stood at the helm. Like no one else, he understood that the existing narrow nomenclature is not conducive to development. Over the next few years, types of products were increased significantly.
By 2000, the Tyumen Battery Plant produced 3 types of batteries for outdoor electric vehicles, 2 for diesel locomotives, 2 for motorcycles, 14 for automobiles and mechanized machinery. At the same time, manufacturing of components previously supplied by related organizations was established. In 2009, the team in the presence of the city administration solemnly celebrated the release of the 65 millionth battery.
Products
The Tyumen battery plant is currently focused on the production of the following type of battery:
- starter;
- traction with armored electrodes (for electric forklifts, electric cars, electric carts, etc., voltage from 10 to 96 V);
- for diesel locomotives of the main and shunting classes;
- for passenger cars;
- for vehicles (including cars);
- motorcycle (used in motorcycles, scooters, snowmobiles, mopeds, ATVs, jet skis, etc.);
- for tracked vehicles;
- industrial;
- stationary (for communication centers, telecommunication equipment, gas distribution stations, facilities and power supply devices, data centers, emergency systems, backup power, alarm).
Also, on its own production lines, polypropylene, pure lead, antimony-lead alloys are manufactured, recycling is carried out.

Products have a completely modern appearance. When they are manufactured, the necessary technological standards are complied with, corresponding to previously adopted GOSTs. Own plastic molding lines save on components. It is important that the batteries are developed for Russian conditions. They work confidently in cold weather. However, according to reviews, when a thermometer column goes far beyond -30 แต C, problems are possible. But extremely low temperatures negatively affect the batteries of any manufacturer.
