Arena-Ugra (Khanty-Mansiysk) is a multifunctional complex that was commissioned back in 2008. The autonomous sports center can accommodate 5500 people. It meets all modern requirements for competitions and other events at the international level.
Features
Among other things, on the territory of the Arena-Ugra complex, you can see figure skating. However, the main activity is the organization of hockey competitions. Arena-Ugra, if necessary, turns into a sports ground for competitions in wrestling, boxing, rhythmic and artistic gymnastics, tennis, handball, basketball, volleyball, futsal.
In addition, pop stars can perform in the complex. The arena acts as a training base for classes of sports schools and hockey teams. For athletes, massage rooms, drying chambers, showers and changing rooms are arranged. Gym facilities are provided for warm-ups.
In order to inform the audience during sports events, a multidisciplinary media cube is installed under the arch of the palace. On the ground floor there is a gift shop. In the days when home games are held, on the second floor there are food points created especially for fans.
Infrastructure
Arena-Ugra has an area of 4.78 ha. The area of the complex is 2211.77 square meters. The capacity of the ice palace is 5500 spectators. There is a hockey court with an area of 61 × 30 m. The complex has a sports and fitness center. The ice field has an area of 64.20 × 34.40 m. The palace also has a gym, cafe, restaurant and media cube.

On the territory of the Arena-Ugra complex in 2009-2010, the matches of the Open All-Russian Championship of the Major League teams were held. As part of the KHL draw, the home games of the Ugra club were held on the ice rink. In the complex, one could watch the final round of Ilya Averbukh. The event was called “Ice Age. The best".
It was here that the match of the teams “Legends of USSR Hockey” and “Ugra” was held. In the complex, the Gazprom Neft Cup was played. He was awarded on the basis of the Second Interregional tournament among children's hockey teams.
Club
As already mentioned, the complex of interest to us was hosted by HC Ugra, so the latter should be discussed in more detail. Ugra is a professional hockey club that plays in the KHL. It is based in Khanty-Mansiysk. The club was founded in 2006, October 1. From 2008 to 2010, the team played in the major league championship of Russia.
The club is based on funds allocated by the administration of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. From 2006 to 2007, the team played in the second division of the championship of Russia. It was then that the club received professional status. From 2007 to 2008, Ugra played in the first division. Twice the club was awarded the status of the champion of the Major League.
Ugra is the first team in Russia to win the Bratina Cup twice in a row. After 2 years, this success was repeated by Toros. In 2009, the club moved to the arena of interest to us. In 2010, he entered the KHL and immediately got to the playoffs of the Gagarin Cup. Ugra finished tenth in the regular season with 87 points.
This is the fifth result in the eastern conference. In the quarterfinals, Ugra lost to Magnitogorsk Metallurg in six matches. Ivan Khlyntsev became the top scorer of this team at the highest level in the first season. He managed to score 29 points. Igor Skorokhodov was the best sniper. On his account 16 goals. Alexey Pepelyaev was noted for the best performance among the defenders.
