Before you cook high-quality moonshine, you need to carefully prepare the raw materials for distillation. The result will completely depend on the quality of raw materials.
The taste of mash, aroma, color, the presence of impurities and, of course, the residual effect is a hangover. Moonshine is primarily based on
ethyl alcohol, which is formed after the breakdown of
simple carbohydrates (sucrose, fructose, glucose). The splitting process and formula are very complex. There is no need to describe all this, since it is much easier to make mash. Consider the main points. The preparation of mash as a raw material for home brewing, and its use as a separate drink provides for the presence of sugar as an absolute source of carbohydrates or various juices and other plant components that contain fructose. The most effective way is to add these components to the mash as juice or puree. This will greatly speed up the process of transferring all sugars to your solution.
The most common recipe for how to make mash.
First, take 1 kg of yeast and 7 kg of granulated sugar. Pour 24 liters of filtered water into this mixture (it is recommended not to use tap water, because it contains disinfecting impurities that negatively affect the yeast).

All ingredients are thoroughly mixed in a large container (a container with a lid should be used), and it is placed in a heat source. Once every two days (you can and less often), you should open the lid and mix the contents thoroughly so that the mash gets rid of carbon dioxide faster. The lid itself is used as an object to prevent the ingress of oxygen into the mash, as as a result of oxygen fermentation, molds and many other travel companions can kill the product. If the container is not covered with a lid (for example, fermentation in a glass jar), it is necessary to stop the access of oxygen in any other way (put on a glove or a condom). The fermentation process takes place until the moment when gas bubbles cease to form, because the taste of mash will no longer be sweet. You need to carefully calculate the amount of working solution and pour a large amount of water to dissolve the ethyl alcohol you have chosen. Saturating the environment with ethanol, the yeast itself creates poor conditions. After saturation of the medium with alcohol by more than 10%, all bacteria begin to die. Today, there are such varieties of yeast that can withstand up to 15% of the alcohol in solution, but this is not our case. An excellent substitute for sugar, if necessary, is apple juice.

How to make mash with the replacement of sugar with other plant components.
For cooking, we need:
- 1 kg of yeast;
- 10 liters of apple juice, preferably sweet varieties of apples ;
- 10 liters of filtered water.
Do not be upset if you do not find sugar or apple juice at home. In the preparation of mash, you can also use other herbal ingredients. For example: potatoes, sugar beets, cereals, and other sources that have carbohydrates. Based on the foregoing, the question: "How to make mash?" - will be completely closed.
