As practice shows, the Kaspersky Lab software products during installation save their files not only in standard directories like Program Files, but also in places that the user is not even aware of. In this case, antivirus self-defense is enabled by default. Unfortunately, most users do not know what to do if they have forgotten the password for Kaspersky, since removing a software package sometimes (note, sometimes, but not always) becomes impossible. However, there are some simple ways to bypass this lock.
How to remove Kaspersky from a computer: standard methods
For starters, you can try to remove the antivirus using standard system tools by selecting the programs and components section in the Control Panel for this.
Naturally, the Windows uninstaller leaves much to be desired, so after that you will have to clean the registry yourself or use some third-party application for this.
On the other hand, in some cases, the question of how to remove Kaspersky if you forget the password can be resolved using your own anti-virus removal tool, which must be run as administrator and selected to completely remove the program from the uninstaller window. Next, you’ll need to check all the items, including licenses, activation information, quarantine, backup storage and iSwift data. The removal process is quite lengthy, at the end it is necessary to restart the system without fail.

However, to completely uninstall, you can use a special utility called KAVRemover.
How to remove "Kaspersky" if I forgot the password, in this case? You just need to run the utility, agree to the license agreement, enter the captcha characters, and then confirm the removal of the detected software products. A reboot follows. Note that the program deletes absolutely all data, therefore, when reinstalling any of the Kaspersky Lab products, you will have to enter the license keys again.
If, for some reason, the uninstallation of software products is blocked, you will need to contact support.
Uninstalling using special methods
But, as it turns out, there is one method that allows you to bypass the lock. How to remove “Kaspersky" if I forgot my password?
First you need to restart the system in safe mode, and then in the "Explorer" find the AVP file with the .exe extension (as a rule, it is located in the Kaspersky Lab directory of the Program Files directory). This object must be renamed, for example, to 1.exe, then reboot the system in normal mode and run the renamed file from the "Explorer".
Further in the settings you need to disable normal protection, self-defense and password protection. After saving the changes to the icon menu in the system tray, you need to exit the program and rename the source file to AVP.exe again in Explorer. After the reboot, you can safely remove the antivirus using any of the above methods.
In some cases, to simplify the actions, you can use the special utility Kaspersky Lab All Products Password Reset. It is enough to run it as an administrator, and in the command window that appears, press any key to reset. After the reboot, the password will disappear, and removing it will not be difficult.
However, it is better to remove software products using highly targeted programs like iObit Uninstaller, Revo Uninstaller or Crystalidea Uninstall Tool, which will delete not only the main antivirus files, but also residual components, including all entries in the system registry.
Instead of a total
As you can see, uninstalling any Kaspersky Lab product is not particularly difficult. What to use? It seems that the best option would be to reset the password and completely remove the antivirus using special utilities.
