One of the universal building materials used in the construction of domestic, industrial and commercial facilities is welded flooring. In fact, these are metal gratings of high strength. They are resistant to any physical impact, are not afraid of moisture and are easy to install. The flooring is made of steel strips welded to the lattice with cover rods.
Production technology
When assembling the flooring, 3 types of elements are used:
- Bearing strip. These elements provide high strength and reliability of the material. They determine the length of the flooring.
- Covering twisted rods. This is a connecting element that combines everything into a single design.
- Framing. It can be made of strip or profile. The type of frame depends on how the modules will be installed.
For the production of flooring, only stainless or low-carbon steels are used. Typically, these are grades 1.4404, V4A, V2A, St 52 and St 37.
To assemble the welded flooring, you need to cut the connecting rods to a given length and press them into the cover strips. This operation is performed under high pressure - up to 1000 kN, while the elements are connected in parallel using electric welding. This technology provides the highest material strength.
Later, if necessary, holes and cutouts are made in the product, giving it the desired shape. Then the frame of the edges is attached. This stage of work completes the production. Welded flooring subjected to additional anti-corrosion treatment, it also provides decorative material. To do this, the lattice is chrome plated, stained or using the hot dip galvanizing method.
If necessary, anti-skid teeth can be installed on the bearing strips. Such flooring is indispensable in places of movement of pedestrians and equipment with icy conditions, heavy rainfall or oil spills.
Finished welded modules can have a different shape, if desired, you can choose the option with the desired surface finish or cell size.

Benefits of Using Material
Often, customers, choosing between all-metal structures and welded flooring, prefer the latter. After all, they:
- Lungs. As a result, the load on the bearing supports is significantly reduced several times. This property is indispensable for construction on floating swampy soils.
- Comfortable. Welded flooring is easy to transport and install.
- They have exact dimensions and are mounted on a modular basis.
- They have high bandwidth. Neither rainfall nor pollution to the flooring is terrible.
- Insensitive to any weather and most chemicals. reagents.
- They have a long service life, and they do not deform even under significant loads.
- Aesthetically attractive. Lattices look light and openwork, this is their quality that architects use when developing both industrial and domestic projects.
Applications for welded flooring
The technology allows to produce all types and shapes of flooring: with indirect angles, various holes and cutouts. This material withstands enormous physical loads even when the supports for the modules are located at a considerable distance from each other. Such qualities make welded flooring indispensable in construction. It is used both in the construction of load-bearing components of structures, and in the creation of design elements, facade cladding. Platforms and stairs, bridges and platforms are assembled from the modules, and paths are laid out by them.
Welded flooring is very effective as an antisplash coating. It allows 50% to clean shoes from dirt. At the same time, garbage does not accumulate on the surface of the modules and wakes up in cells, where it is easy to remove. In addition, the modules provide excellent traction with soles in ice. Therefore, flooring is used when decorating the entrances to rooms with high traffic.
In addition, welded flooring is often used:
- in industrial premises - when laying the floor;
- like shelving in warehouses;
- on drilling and offshore production platforms;
- in shipbuilding;
- when arranging sites at water treatment plants;
- during the construction of various types of stairs;
- to create equipment or tank service sites
- at communication towers and power plants.
Excellent operational properties of welded modules make them a universal material. Gratings are strong, durable and provide high safety for both pedestrians and vehicles.
