"Witch" (which is exactly the name of Milan Viestica is translated from Serbian into Russian) was born and raised in the capital of the autonomous region of Yugoslavia, and now in Serbia - Vojvodina - Novi Sad. Vojvodina is considered a place of compact residence of Hungarians, but Milan is still a Serb.
Milan's cute Novi Sad
One of the main sports hobbies of Novi Sad is football. Our hero was also carried away by him. He began to play in the children's team of the club of the same name with the city. Novi Sad never stood on a par with Vojvodina, which at times competed with Belgrade clubs, as well as the Croatian Dynamo and Hajduku. Nevertheless, the football biography of Milan Vieštitsa began in Novi Sad.
Success in this club, in turn, led to the transition to “Vojvodina”, in which the defender played only one season. It was in this season that Milan played one match for the youth team of Yugoslavia (the defeat of Luxembourg with a score of 8: 0) and earned a reputation as a promising young player. In those days, Yugoslavia was in a very difficult economic situation, and therefore, more or less capable football players sought to find work abroad. Milan was no exception.
They showed interest in Viestica in Germany and France, but the matter did not grow together. The most concrete proposal turned out to be St. Petersburg from Czech coach Zenit, pan Czech Petrzhela, and Milan, at his own peril and risk, went to the cultural capital of Russia.
Best years - Peter
Afraid, it seemed, was what. In Serbia, they scared me with frost, crime, homesickness. The first season in the “Zenith” really turned out to be difficult. At first the weather scared: when Milan arrived at the place, the air temperature was minus 27. The situation with crime turned out to be exaggerated, but here is the anguish ... For Zenit, it was the first foreign legionnaire in history, and therefore, even though the management counted on it that the Serbian mentality is close to Russian, nobody knew how to work with foreigners. I did not know the Russian language and Viestica. I had to communicate in a bizarre mixture of fragments of English and Slavic (common roots in the words of the Serbian and Russian languages). Then, of course, the football player Milan Vieshtitsa decently mastered Russian, but in the first season ...
As a result, Milan Viestica became one of those who made Zenit a team that began to claim medals and a championship, and not just to participate in the top division. The first foreign call (including, of course, Viestica) in St. Petersburg is still remembered warmly. It was then that “Zenith” began to be perceived as a real force. And the Serbian defender himself called the seasons in St. Petersburg the best in his career, and the city on the Neva is almost the best city on planet Earth.
Don't want to go to league one?
However, the “Zenith” under Petrzhel did not become a champion, did not win the Cup (the frivolous Premier League Cup does not count!), And therefore Little General Lawyer appeared in St. Petersburg. Among those whom the Dutch coach hoped for, Viestica was not included, and Milan signed a contract with “Rostov”. In the team with Don, he stayed in leading roles, but she was eliminated in the first division following the season.
Not wanting to fall into the second division of Russian football and not having other offers, Milan agreed to play one season for the Belgrade “Partizan”. The return to his homeland was more than successful: Milan Viestica became the champion and winner of the Serbia Cup. Clouded the situation, however, a fracture of a toe.
According to Viestica himself, in Belgrade he felt some kind of longing for Russia. I wanted to play there, and the understanding came that youthful hopes and prospects would not come true, the level of his game is still far from stellar, and in Russia they want to see him as he is.
Fit in the wrong place
So it turned out that almost the entire career of a Serb took place in Russia. After Belgrade was the Yaroslavl “Shinnik”, where he was experienced by the standards of the first division (above in the photo is Milan Vieshtitsa), he immediately became the captain of the team. In 2010, he was even recognized as the best defender of the first division (read FNL).
In 2011, the best FNL defender bought a gamble. And who wouldn’t buy it if the Sochi "Pearl" tortured the country with fashionable television spots about what exactly lies ahead for it? The project in the Olympic city seemed reliable and financial. Viestica agreed to the transition, again as a captain, but the project burst, being financially empty. True, Milan dropped out of the game even earlier than it was revealed: in the game he stepped on the ball and was injured, which had to be operated on in Germany.
Then there was the “Ural”, which he helped to win the FNL Cup twice and reach the Premier League. However, the new coach (Alexander Tarkhanov), who came under the elite, said bluntly that he was not driving Milan out, but he was not counting on him. Vieshtitsa happily returned to his beloved Petersburg and tried to captain in the local Dynamo. However, he played only nine matches in it and hung football boots on the nail.
Now Milan Viestica lives in his native Novi Sad, but he can still be seen in football. True, only on the mini-soccer field, where he plays for amateur teams.
