This is a prosperous district of Solntsevo (Moscow) and it is located not far from the well-known MKAD. It got its wonderful name in honor of the once existing city. Not so long ago, residents celebrated the thirtieth anniversary of their historic “piece of Moscow”. They worked hard on its cleanliness and improvement, so we can safely say that Solntsevo (a district of Moscow) is a great place to take root and enjoy living in it.
A bit of history
Around the beginning of the seventeenth century, in its place, not far from Belokamennaya, a small village called Sukovo existed and lived its measured life. At that time, it belonged to the princes Trubetskoy. A couple of centuries later, just a couple of kilometers from the village, a railway line was built along with the station.
This contributed to the rapid population growth, and in 1926 the village already numbered about four hundred people. Perhaps this would continue to this day, if not for the reforms that took place in 1935. The question concerned the construction and reconstruction of Moscow. These changes are not spared and the aforementioned village. A decree was issued in connection with which about three hundred separate houses were built near the village on a free territory for development.
Obviously, there were much more inhabitants, and the village no longer pulled on the status of a "village." That is why the question arose about its new name. As a result, Sukovo was renamed the Solntsevo district (Moscow). The name has taken root, and to this day the residents of the district are proud of its harmony. Under what circumstances did Solntsevo become part of Moscow? February 23, 1971 was a significant day. It was then that the village was transformed into a city of regional subordination, and after about thirteen years it was already considered an official part of Moscow, and on the map of the capital a new district - Solntsevsky - was already flaunted.
The modern development of the area
It would be logical to expect that along with the new status, the former village will have a new life. And what about Moscow without new buildings? The pace of construction increased rapidly. Schools, kindergartens and other institutions of the social sphere began to appear. It is worth noting the moment that the entire urban development policy of the district was mainly aimed at the construction of residential buildings. Alas, against the background of this, the construction of engineering facilities and other social infrastructure suffered significantly.
The number of residents in Solntsevo (district of Moscow) was growing rapidly. No other place in the capital has seen such a high population growth. There has become a need for additional educational institutions, healthcare facilities and even sports sections. When it became gradually satisfied, another problem arose - the Solntsevo district (Moscow) began to consume too much electricity.
It was a real deficit, but over time, and this situation began to gradually improve. This problem finally disappeared in 2009, when the construction of the Tereshkovo gas turbine power plant was completed. Recently, all the forces of the region are concentrated on the construction of the long-awaited metro and other necessary transport interchanges.

What area is Solntsevo (Moscow) now? It is safe to say that ecology and cleanliness have always been at his high level. Solntsevo today belongs to the Western District of Moscow and has about one hundred seventeen thousand inhabitants. The Moscow region is rich in wonderful parks, which locals love to visit in their free time. One of them is called the Valley of the Setun River, and the other is Meshchersky.
