In the city where Daler came from, there was very little time to live, two years after birth, his family moved to Orenburg, where the young athlete began his football career. His father once played for Gazovik, where he was then an assistant coach, and then Daler himself was engaged in a local academy.
Then the boy’s mother decided with her family to move to St. Petersburg in order to give her children (Daler, his older brother and younger sister) more opportunities for further development. In the new city, the young man played in the academies of Zenit and St. Petersburg Lokomotiv. Since Daler Kuzyaev is a third-generation footballer on the father's side, the boy had no choice what to do, and he himself says that he did not consider any other options, and it turned out that he started playing football. Moreover, the family always believed in him, even when a football player had to play at an amateur level to maintain his form. The father always directed his son, gave advice, was and is a mentor so far, fully taking care of all the organizational issues related to the future of the football player as a professional player.
Club football
Kuzyaev from the very beginning of his career was the central midfielder. Speaking for “Terek” (Akhmat), once he had to play on the spot of the last defender due to the fact that there was no one to take the position due to the numerous injuries of teammates. Before signing the contract with Terek, he played for the amateur team SMU-303, Petrozavodsk Karelia and Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik. And in the last club I had to play on the advice of Kurban Berdyev himself, when Daler Kuzyaev was watching in the Kazan “Ruby”. Later, Daler made his debut against him in the match for Terek, a contract with which was signed in the winter of 2014.
The head coach, already changing the name from “Terek” to “Akhmat”, the club Rashid Rakhimov for a very long time could not find a suitable position for the player, trying it at different places in conjunction with other players. In addition to the equally important return to the “Zenith”, the football player Daler Kuzyaev received two offers at once to play for the national team. The first is from Tajikistan due to the fact that his parents were born there, the second from the head coach of the Russian team Stanislav Cherchesov for the test matches. And if he did not even consider the first, because he was born and raised in Russia, then the footballer did not even think of giving up the second. The debut took place on September 3 in a control match against Dynamo Moscow, the meeting ended 3-0. A month later, on October 7, a debut took place in an official match against South Korea. Then Russia won with a score of 4: 2.
Daler Kuzyaev spent the brightest moments in football and, probably, in his life, speaking for the national team at the 2018 World Cup. Not only did the tournament take place in his native country, he also managed to reach the quarter finals. In an extreme match against “Croatia” Kuzyaev scored a penalty, but this did not save the Russian team from not getting to the next stage.

The degree of workability and dedication of a football player to his sport is so high that Daler Kuzyaev has practically no personal life. He himself said that he had never even been on a date with a girl, devoting himself only to family and football.
By nature, he is very shy and modest, often nervous during "post-match" interviews or personal conversations. Daler has all the necessary qualities of both a deep playmaker and a central attacking midfielder. Basically, on the field, he takes something in between the two positions, helping both in attack and defense with the same frequency.
