Railway station "Cherusti": photo, history, number of platforms. Schedule of electric trains around the station

Cherusti is one of the stations of the Moscow Railway (MZhD), located in the village of the same name. It was discovered at the beginning of the twentieth century. This article will discuss the history and features of Cherusti station. In addition, we will tell you which trains stop here and how often.

Station Cherusti: photos and general information

The Moscow Railway has an extensive network of tracks and ranks first in the country in terms of passenger traffic. It provides reliable transport links to Moscow with nearby cities, towns and villages. Every year, Moscow Railway transports about 700 million people.

Cherusti station on the map

The Cherusti railway station is the last in the Moscow region in the Kazan direction. A total of one and a half kilometers east of it is the border between the Moscow and Gorky railways (see map above). By the nature of the work, this is an intermediate station of the third class. By type of platforms - island and side.

Cherusti station is located in the central part of the village with the same name (see map). The toponym, according to researchers, comes from the Turkic word "charusi", which means "swamp". The village itself was formed in 1911. Its occurrence is directly related to the opening of a railway station on the Arzamas - Lyubertsy line.

A brief history of the station

The official opening year of Cherusti Station is the 1912th. At the same time, a train depot started operating. Initially, almost all the inhabitants of the village worked on the railway. Even before the October Revolution, a branch was laid to the powder factory in Roshal. In 1960, the Lyubertsy-Cherusti section was electrified, so the locomotives of long-distance passenger trains were changed at the station.

Alas, the further electrification of the railway in the Kazan direction significantly reduced the significance of the Cherusti station. As a result, the locomotive depot in the village was reorganized, and eventually completely abolished. Almost all freight and passenger trains (with the exception of electric trains) stopped stopping here. So the once busy railway junction gradually turned into a provincial and deserted stop.

Cherusti station schedule

Another unpleasant page in the station's annals is the accident that occurred on June 15, 2018. On that day, five coal cars went off the rails, paralyzing traffic for some time on the Kazan direction of the Moscow Railway.

The current railway station station was built in the late 1970s and is not burdened with architectural excesses. This is a tall one-story building with ticket offices and a spacious waiting room. It is located north of the landing platforms. There is a bus stop right outside the station building, from where buses leave for Shatura and Roshal.
