Gorbunova Tatyana is a well-known Russian gymnast, winner of the Beijing Olympic Games, world and European champion. After completing a brilliant sports career, she works at the Moscow Center for Olympic training in rhythmic gymnastics.
Athlete Biography
Gorbunova Tatyana Igorevna was born in January 1990 in Naberezhnye Chelny. The future Olympic champion began to seriously engage in gymnastics at the age of three. Her first mentor was Lebedinskaya Svetlana Alekseevna.
The girl showed amazing persistence in the classroom for her age. Sometimes she almost had to be taken out of the gym by force.
At the age of six, Tatyana Gorbunova moved to Rostov-on-Don, where she continued classes under the guidance of the honored trainer Adele Vladimirovna Esipova. At various children's tournaments, coaches and judges noted the innate talent of a young girl and predicted her great sporting success.
Soon Tatyana is invited to train at the most prestigious school of rhythmic gymnastics - the Moscow Olympic Training Center. Here she was trained by such world-famous trainers as Natalya Orlova, Amina Zaripova, Zlata and Olga Tulubaevy, Irina Zenovka.
Sports career
Winning various youth and youth tournaments, Tatyana Gorbunova in 2005 attracted the attention of national team coaches. So, the 15-year-old athlete was in the Russian team, where Irina Viner and Valentina Alekseevna Ivanitskaya became her mentors. The training went to a completely different level, and the results were not long in coming.
In 2007, the 17-year-old Russian gymnast became the three-time winner of the world championship in group exercises. A year later, Gorbunova won two gold medals at the European Championships in Turin with the Russian team.
At the Beijing Olympics, 18-year-old Tatyana and her teammates on the national team rode in the status of one of the main contenders for the victory.
Beijing's "golden" sparkle
In the qualifying round of the Games, the Russians showed the second result, losing to the owners of the competition to the Chinese. But in the finals of the Olympics, the struggle for gold was very difficult and uncompromising. According to the judges, the Russian team looked better both in exercises with five skipping ropes and in a group performance with three balls and four clubs, and deservedly won first place.
For winning the Olympic Games in Beijing, Gorbunov was awarded the Order of Friendship, and she was also awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of the Russian Federation.
Unfortunately, the sports career of gymnasts is very short. After the Games in Beijing, Tatyana Gorbunova completed her performances.
Life after sports
Gorbunova Tatyana perfectly managed to combine frequent and grueling workouts with study. In 2007, she became a graduate of the Moscow Special Sports School. Five years later, Gorbunova received a red diploma from the Southern Federal University, where she studied at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports.
The ex-gymnast chose Moscow State University as the second higher education, namely the faculty of public administration.
A year after the completion of her sports career, she was invited to work in the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics as the executive secretary.
Since 2013, Tatiana Igorevna Gorbunova has been working as the director of the special school of the Olympic reserve at the Moscow City Physical Culture and Sports Society. She also acted as ambassador at the Junior Gymnastics Tournament "Children of Asia."
