The unprecedented decline in the cost of some laptop models has made these laptop computers incredibly popular. If earlier a person with an average income had to save some money for such a purchase for several months, now the situation has changed.
The price of budgetary decisions, the performance of which is quite sufficient for viewing Internet pages, printing abstracts on a printer and watching movies, is only $ 300. However, having bought a portable “silicon friend”, subsequently it is necessary not only to learn how to work well with the operating system and applications, but also to understand that the laptop
cooling system should be cleaned periodically.
This operation requires disassembling the case and servicing the internal components of the computer. Although cleaning a laptop’s cooling system scares some users, there’s nothing complicated about it. It is important to understand that this is not a repair that can only be performed by service center employees, but a natural necessity. Almost like in cars: you need to not only add fuel and oil, but sometimes change filters. Since cleaning the laptop’s cooling system is inevitable, manufacturers of these portable devices provide easy access to components that require maintenance (at least most of them, although there are exceptions).
In any modern computer, there are several components that heat up significantly during operation. This is not a malfunction, but a normal mode, although, of course, not entirely desirable. The "hot team" is led by the
central processor, because it is precisely on its "shoulders" that all mathematical calculations rest. Behind it is a video card, “on board” which, by the way, also has a specialized microprocessor. Electronic power circuits located on the motherboard also contribute to the temperature rise inside the case. Without the removal of excess heat, electronic keys (transistors) overheat, begin to fail and may fail due to thermal breakdown. Therefore, in computer systems, processor cooling is applied by blowing with a fan (cooler) a metal radiator in contact with the body of this large microcircuit.
The compact size of laptops is their advantage compared to desktop computers, but at the same time a disadvantage. The spacious casing of the personal computer system unit allows you to place a large-sized cooling system that maintains sufficient efficiency even with significant clogging of the radiator and fan with dust.
But in the cramped case of a laptop, cooler cleaning should be done more often, because its compact size does not allow a “safety margin” for dust collection. Frequent freezes, increased fan humming, program errors are manifestations of overheating of components due to clogging of the cooling system with dust contained in the air.
Cleaning the laptop cooling system involves the following steps:
- power off, battery removal;
- loosening the screws holding the bottom cover, and its dismantling;
- cleaning and purging of the radiator and fan;
- removal of dust from all available components;
- assembly in reverse order.
As we have already indicated above, this operation is not difficult and can be performed even at home.
