Homemade mead
Ingredients:
- 3.5 liters of water;
- 500 grams of honey;
- 3 grams of hop cones;
- 1 gram of yeast (it is better to take Saf-levyur).
Cooking:
Before cooking mead, it is necessary to prepare the container in which it will be prepared and undergo the fermentation process. An ordinary enameled pan and two 3-liter cans or a large glass bottle will do.
Hop cones are sold at the pharmacy. So there should not be a problem with this. First, a little water is poured into the pan, it is put on the stove and brought to a boil. Now you can add honey to it and, having mixed well, boil for another 3 minutes, removing foam from the surface. Boiling honey for a long time is not recommended, since at the same time it loses most of the nutrients. And during this time it will dissolve perfectly. After the foam ceases to stand out, hops are put in the pan and the fire turns off. The dishes must be covered with a lid so that the brew is infused.
Soon a real mead will come out. How many degrees will it be? About 7-10. So such a light drink will appeal to both ladies. To give strength, it is necessary to dilute the yeast in sweet water, and wait until the dough rises.
Did the contents of the pan cool? Then you can add yeast dough to it and mix. The drink is removed for 5 days in a warm place for fermentation. The hops are taken out. Then a young mead (how many degrees it formed, an alcohol meter will show) is filtered through gauze, bottled and placed in a cool place for a week.
After this time, you can start a pleasant tasting. It will turn out delicious, fragrant mead. The degrees in it are small, so that with moderate consumption, there will be no strong intoxication, but a cheerful mood will be created, and the body will be nourished with useful elements contained in honey.
