Ismail Musukaev is a freestyle wrestler from Dagestan, part of the Russian team. Ismail repeatedly represented the Russian Federation at international tournaments. Ismail Musukaev in the freestyle wrestling is the silver medalist of the 2015 Russian Championship.
Childhood
Musukaev Ismail Timurovich was born on January 28, 1993 (age 25) in the city of Nalchik, the capital of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. It is interesting that, despite this, Musukaev has been playing for Dagestan all his professional sports career. For example, he is a member of the national team at the Russian freestyle wrestling championship.
Ismail Musukaev lives and trains in Dagestan at the present time. At the competitions, the athlete represents the sports school of the Olympic Reserve named after Mavlet Batyrov in the city of Khasavyurt, where the athlete is engaged under the guidance of world-famous freestyle wrestling coach Sheme Shemeyev. Currently, Ismail Musukaev is a student at the Dagestan Pedagogical University, where the wrestler is studying at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports.
Weight category
Traditionally, the athlete performs in the weight category, which fits in the framework of 57 or 61 kg. In 2017, Ismail received a shoulder injury, after healing which he is going to compete with athletes for no more than 65 kilograms for some time. This is due to the fact that during the rehabilitation period and the lack of the proper amount of physical activity, Musukaev gained weight. Many athletes immediately before the weighing procedure desperately drive off kilograms in order to fall within the framework of a certain weight category, Musukaev said that he sees no point in this. The wrestler is interested in trying himself in a new weight, but later he is going to return to the category of not more than 61 kg.
The beginning of a sports career
In childhood, Ismail Musukaev liked boxing more than free-style wrestling. The athlete admits that he went to the freestyle wrestling section for the company with school friends, but soon dropped out and was ready to change his sporting career by going to the boxing section. It probably would have happened if it were not for the persistence of the first coach of the athlete Yusup Azhoyev. The mentor was a fellow villager of the Musukayev family, he often began to come to Ismail and his parents, convincing them that the boy’s vocation was a struggle. As a result, the Musukaevs surrendered, and at the age of twelve, the son of Ismail resumed classes in a series of free-style wrestling under the strict guidance of the same Yusup Azhoyev
A capable pupil quickly began to live up to the expectations of his coach. Two years later (at the age of fourteen), Ismail won the bronze medal of the Russian championship in freestyle wrestling among juniors in the city of Vladimir, and at the competitions in Perm in 2008 he repeated this result. Musaev really achieved serious success and widespread recognition in the world of freestyle wrestling in 2011, when he won the prestigious tournament: Ramzan Kadyrov Cup.
Adult years
A new stage in the sports career of Ismail Musukayev began in 2012, when he moved to Dagestan and began to study at the sports school named after Mavlet Batyrov in Khasavyurt. Currently, it is for this team that Musukaev speaks at various tournaments. Ismail determined his choice by the fact that at this sports school there is a boarding school in which full-fledged conditions are created to ensure the athletes live without any problems.
Ismail initially counted on continuing his career in the capital of the Dagestan Republic, Makhachkala, but he realized that he would not be able to fully equip his life. In Makhachkala, an athlete would have to face many difficulties, such as a rented apartment, cooking, solving other domestic issues.
Now Ismail Musukaev is training under the guidance of the well-known in the world of martial arts, Russian coach Sheme Shemeyev. It was in alliance with this specialist that the athlete from Nalchik achieved the most significant successes in his career. Ismail Musukaev’s sports biography was replenished with such achievements as a victory at the youth championships of the North Caucasian Federal District and the Russian Federation. In addition, the athlete managed to climb the third step of the sports podium on the Ramzan Kadyrov Cup, win the silver medal of the Intercontinental Cup and take second place in the tournament under the name “Ali Aliyev”.
Future plans
Now Ismail Musukaev seriously began to think about continuing his sports career in appearances for another state. The athlete admits that he loves Russia, but in the Russian free-style wrestling the highest level of competition. This is what determines the intention to change sports citizenship. Like any professional athlete, Ismail Musukaev strives to perform at the European and World Championships, the Olympic Games, therefore, if he gets this opportunity under the flag of another country and there is no chance of playing for the Russian Federation, the athlete will take such a bold step.
