Today, when the Russian Federation was covered by a wave of sanctions, much attention is paid to import substitution. As a result, there is the opening of new industries in Russia in different directions and in different cities. What industries are most demanded in our country today? Insulation and basalt fiber production
In the Rostov region in early June 2016, the technological launch of the TechnoNicol Corporation plant was completed. It is noteworthy that its construction was completed literally in a year, however, commissioning work was carried out for another three years . This production allowed to open 176 jobs. The new plant will operate on the basis of cupola technology for the production of stone wool, the features of which are the efficient use of heat from combusted fuel and good performance. This new production in Russia will produce more than a million cubic meters of finished products per year, more than 90 types of combustible thermal insulation based on basalt. This plant will supply insulation materials for facades and roofs of various types, walls, floors, partitions to the building materials market. Stone wool substrates are widely used in the agricultural sector.
Sugar Beet Processing
Another new production in Russia will appear in the Ulyanovsk region. Here they want to arrange the processing of sugar beets. It is planned that the new complex will become the most powerful enterprise in the country where sugar beet is grown and processed. In this case, sales markets will be oriented primarily to Russia, but some of the products will be exported. In the future, this plant will become part of a large agricultural complex where oilseeds and grains will be grown.
Polypropylene pipes
A new production of polypropylene pipes in Russia has been established at the Polyprom Kuznetsk plant. A wide selection of equipment allows the production of pipes, hoses, profiles, films, nets of various types. The company's technological lines allow the production of pressure, shell, and sewer pipes at the same time. Extruders are also manufactured here, for the assembly of which nitrided screw pairs are used.
A new production of polypropylene pipes in Russia is being conducted at the TruboPlastMontazh plant. This is a specialized enterprise where not only pipes are created, but also fittings, which can not be avoided when installing heating systems and water supply systems. Production is carried out on four automated pipe lines, ten injection molding machines. In addition, the company can purchase reinforced and sewer pipes, radiators, components for plumbing equipment.
Lime production
There are also new plants for the production of lime in Russia. For example, in Karachay-Cherkessia, it is planned to sell 15 investment plants at once, with the main emphasis on opening production lines at the Khabez gypsum plant. It is planned that after the launch of new facilities and modernization, enterprises here will produce up to 48,000 tons of lime per year, and will also produce dry construction mixes and drywall sheets. The enterprise also produces finishing putty, which is used in interior decoration.
This new production in Russia aims to produce more than 40 types of construction products. It is noteworthy that the range of the company is constantly expanding. A separate line will be the production of hydrated lime, which is widely used for the production of a number of construction mixtures. At the moment, the main sales market is the North Caucasus and the southern regions.
Manufacture of wearing apparel
Today the textile industry is actively developing in our country. So, the leading Russian manufacturer of women's clothing Elis is expanding significantly. They plan to open a new production facility in Russia, in Volsk, where more than 220,000 units of clothing will be produced per year. It is noteworthy that it was planned to create this enterprise back in 2014, but due to the crisis, the timing of production launch was postponed. But in the end, the factory was opened in May 2016 in the city of Volsk, and now Elis has four production facilities, one of which, by the way, is located in Belarus.
There is a new production of workwear in Russia. The launch of enterprises is explained by the fact that there is a ban on the purchase of imported goods for light industry. The Obuv Rossii group of companies plans to produce up to a million pairs each year for the army and builders. The first batch of shoes will be released in 2016, and by the next year it is planned to significantly increase the production process. The factory itself is distinguished by good equipment, so it is possible to establish several production lines.
The company plans to supply safety shoes to government agencies and private organizations that are engaged in the construction industry, including road construction, oil and gas pipelines. Overalls are also made in the company, but still the main emphasis will be placed on shoes.
Nonwoven Fabric Production
In April 2016, the textile and clothing production index increased by 3.7% compared to the previous year. New technologies for the production of nonwoven fabrics in Russia began to be introduced. Thus, Avgol-Ros LLC, the country's leading enterprise, established a second line with a production capacity of 10,000 tons per year. To date, the company is producing a huge number of non-woven materials :
- "Spanbond", "Avspan", "Avsoft", which have found application in the national economy.
- Materials from which diapers are made for children and adults, wipes, disposable protective equipment.
Production of hardware
The launch of new industries in Russia is carried out in its most diverse regions. So, in the Krasnodar Territory, in the Belorechensky District, the first stage of the plant, which will produce metal products, has been opened. It is noteworthy that the Krasnodar Territory is the first region in Russia in which the production of hardware began. The main quantity of metal products represented in our country is exported from China and Taiwan, which makes up almost 90% of Russia's demand. Accordingly, the new plant will allow to take a step in the formation of import substitution. It is planned that the company will annually produce up to 330,000 screws.
Asphalt production
The list of new productions in Russia has been replenished with a plant for the production of asphalt concrete mix, which is located in the Crimea, in Simferopol. It is noteworthy that there are no analogues to this enterprise in terms of power and quality of manufactured products. The plant will produce five types of mixture, and the whole process is conducted on modern technological equipment. It is planned that the company will supply the mixture for the needs of the city and the region as a whole, and this will allow more efficient distribution of the existing budget.
Coal Processing Plant
In the review of new Russian enterprises, we decided to include the Ingalinskaya coal processing plant, which was opened in Yakutia. This industrial facility, according to plans, will work around the clock and produce up to 2 million tons of coal per year. Production is 85% equipped with domestic equipment, innovative technologies will be applied here, due to which it will be possible to ensure high efficiency of the production process.
Design solutions allow to modernize production with the advent of new standards, technologies, so the factory will constantly improve, new lines will open. As noted in the region, the company has a great prospect of becoming the center of the country's coal industry as a whole.
Welding wire production
Import substitution for our country is a great opportunity not only to overcome the economic crisis, but also to develop and structure changes in the entire economy. As part of the import substitution program, a new production facility was opened in Tyumen in 2016 - a welding wire factory. High quality copper-plated coating allows you to get a stable wire feed during welding, while spatter will be minimal.
Gas oil processing
During oil refining, it is important not only to clean it of mineral and non-hydrocarbon components, but also to separate it into fractions by distillation. It is also important that oil and its products can be subjected to different influences to solve certain problems. So, in Volgograd a production was opened where hydrocracking will be conducted, that is, processing of gas oil, which is a fraction of oil with hydrocarbons in the composition.
New production was built in just three years. It is planned that more than 3 million tons of raw materials will be processed here, which will make the enterprise the largest in our country. The complex will annually produce diesel fuel, gasoline, and liquefied gas. In order for production to be stable, hydrogen will be produced in a separate workshop, and elemental sulfur will act as a by-product: its use is necessary in the country's chemical industry. Volumes and degrees of oil refining will allow the Volgograd enterprise to take its place in this area, and Russia - to take another step forward in the development of the oil industry.
Mussel-oyster complex
Some new types of production have just arrived in Russia. For example, Crimea plans to provide our country with oysters and mussels. It is noteworthy that, despite the sanctions, Crimea continues to import its products to various countries. Market experts note that the peninsula has excellent prospects in agriculture and industry, where steady growth in production has been observed for several years.
The main emphasis in Crimea is on the processing of fish - chum, trout, herring, which may well compete with products from Norway and China. And the most interesting production is an oyster farm. Experts say that this is an attractive investment industry, especially if you open a full-fledged complex here.
Production of unbreakable dishes
In the Belgorod region, the production of unbreakable dishes “Borisov Ceramics” was launched. It is noteworthy that the company uses a new material for the industry - semi-porcelain, which has a high level of chemical and thermal stability. The hardening of dishes is carried out at temperatures above 1200 degrees, so it is characterized by the highest level of strength. Representatives of the enterprise say that there are no similar industries in Russia. Its peculiarity is that the cycle of creating dishes is shortened, due to which gas costs are reduced, and time and labor resources are reduced. At the moment, the plant produces about 300 types of dishes, and the assortment will expand depending on customer demand.
Packaging production
Kazan factory of modern packaging has opened in Tatarstan. Laminated box-type bags made of polypropylene will be produced here, and for Russia this enterprise will become a pilot. The first products will be sent for packing mineral fertilizers, then deliveries are planned for cement plants in the region. It is predicted that the plant will produce more than 44 million polypropylene bags per year.

Production of thermal insulation materials
A new factory of the TechnoNicol Corporation was opened in May in Ryazan. The company will produce energy-efficient heat-insulating materials based on polyisocyanurate foam.
