Architectural Details
Station "Kotelniki" refers to the type of shallow laying. It is laid at a depth of 15 meters. It resembles “Zhulebino” in configuration, differs from it in a more “brilliant” style of design, the presence of round columns, even ceiling. The station floor is lined with red granite stone.
The station hall is decorated with granite and marble. The color palette is filled with light gray tones, in harmony with decorative steel elements.
The station has two lobby structures located underground. They have two exits. The northwest exit is located at the 6th microdistrict of Zhulebino. The eastbound exit leads to the Novoryazanskoye highway.
There are three escalator lines in the western lobby, four in the east. There are elevators for people with limited mobility.
At the station, some new technology was used, which is later planned to be distributed to other metro stations. These include:
- vending machines with drinks, desserts and snacks;
- equipment for wrapping umbrellas in bags;
- Installations for reading contact bank cards.
Devices for recharging mobile gadgets were also equipped, but due to the actions of the vandals they had to be eliminated.
Figures
On the day the station was launched, 13,200 people used it.
By the spring of 2016, the flow of passengers increased to 41 thousand people.
At launch, the station was:
- one with simultaneous access to three cities (Kotelniki, Lyubertsy and Moscow);
- the second behind the administrative line of Moscow;
- the second, with access to both Moscow and the region.
The length of the Zhulebino - Kotelniki section is 1.53 km.
Value
The construction of the station helped reduce passenger flow on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line. Thus, the Moscow government is working to optimize transport equipment in the southeastern regions of Moscow and the Moscow region.
The Moscow government has actively supported the launch of the new Kotelniki station, the opening date of which we previously announced. At the same time, Moscow Mayor S. Sobyanin actively collaborates with the regional governor A. Vorobyov.
The opening of the Kotelniki metro station is a joint successful project of the Moscow government, as well as the regional leadership on the development of transport. As part of this project, new roads are being built, interchanges appear, suburban roads are being reconstructed, and new highways are being constructed.
The Moscow government expresses the hope that this station will not be the last open in the suburbs. It is planned to open new metro points.
