Caspian cognac has long been loved by the inhabitants of Russia. Due to the fact that they produce it here, the price for it is very reasonable and affordable for everyone. And it is made from domestic products, unlike many other cognacs, for which raw materials are brought from France.
Noble drink "Caspian" - cognac KVVK, that is, it is seasoned and has the highest quality. It has been produced at the Derbent Brandy Factory for many decades in a row.
Conflict of interest
A big scandal in its time touched this brand of cognac. The Caspian was produced by two plants - Dagestan and Derbent. And all would be fine, but the competitor decided to break the existing technology, to make a noble drink cheaper. Grapes grown in the mountains of the Caucasus have always been used to produce this quality alcohol. And then the grief firm decided to use French cognac spirits in production .
Of course, nobody poisoned the new Caspian, but the taste became different. And Dagestan has a lot of its own vineyards, so there is simply no urgent need to use raw materials from abroad. The scandal reached the Ministry of Agriculture and Rospatent. The result was a solution:
- Only the Derbent factory should produce Caspian cognac.
- In production, only local raw materials should be used.
And today this noble drink pleases with its invariable taste all lovers of Russian alcoholic beverages.

Local residents took advantage of this, starting to produce both wine and cognac. The founder of large-scale winemaking in these parts is Peter I. He also appreciated the first alcoholic drinks produced here. And already in the 70s of the 20th century at the Derbent factory they started making Caspian cognac, which is still very popular.
