Muscatel oil: types, properties, application

Natural essential and base oils are now incredibly popular in cosmetology, medicine and the perfume industry. One of them is the Muscatel oil, which is produced from the seeds of the same grape variety. What is this remedy and what are the varieties that exist? Let's consider a cosmetic product in more detail.

What is a Muscatel?

Translated from Latin, the word "muscatus" (muscatus) - smelling of musk. This is the name of the grape variety that grows in Spain and France. Of course, wine is made of it. And from the seeds, using the steam distillation method, they extract essential oil with a specific grape aroma.

Many people confuse the Muscatel essential oil with nutmeg ether. Despite the similarity of names, these are completely different products. The aroma of high-quality 100% ether "Muscatel" is thin, delicate and unobtrusive. A synthetic analogue of the drug is on sale. Its smell, properties and action are very different from a natural product for the worse.

The properties

The “Muscatel” essential oil is especially good for the skin. Here's how it works:

  • improves color, giving it a radiant and healthy look;
  • rejuvenates the skin, making it more elastic;
  • activates the production of its own collagen and elastin;
  • accelerates tissue regeneration;
  • makes scars on the skin less noticeable, smoothing them;
  • prevents the appearance of stretch marks, and if they are already there, makes them less pronounced.

Application

How can I use the oil "Muscatel"? There are several options:

  • for the skin in order to improve its condition;
  • to improve the quality of hair, adding it to masks, hygiene products, for head massage and aroma combing;
  • for aromatizing indoor air.

Oil can be used solo or in a mixture with basic cosmetic. As an independent tool, “Muscatel” is used for aroma lamps and combing hair. In other cases, it must be diluted. For this purpose, you can use almond, grape seed oil, olive and many others. Dilute based on a teaspoon of base 3-4 drops of ethereal.

It is very useful to apply this mixture to wet skin after bathing. The oil forms the thinnest film that holds precious moisture on the surface of the dermis, thereby preventing dryness. And oils additionally nourish the skin with vitamins and minerals. Specialists especially noted the effect of tightening in the chest and décolleté.

For massage
