Many users of the latest Windows-based computer systems are faced with an unpleasant situation when there is braking associated with excessive consumption of system resources by some processes. And one such component is the Antimalware Service Executable. What is it now and see. At the same time, we consider two simple ways to deactivate the process itself.
Antimalware Service Executable: what is it?
Microsoft Corporation constantly insists that it primarily cares about the security of its systems. At the same time, you can find so many funds in them that many do not even understand why they are needed. In addition, many of them can load resources to such an extent that it becomes simply impossible to work.
In our case, consider the Antimalware Service Executable service. What it is? The most common built-in antivirus service. Its constant operation can lead not only to slowdown of the system, but even to conflicts with other antivirus software.
Antimalware Service Executable: how to disable?
You can use at least two methods to disable this service. In the general case, before performing the following actions, its main process should be completed in the "Task Manager".
The executable file MSMPENG.EXE corresponds to this service. You need to find it in the tree of active processes and perform a forced shutdown.
Now let's look at the deactivation of the Antimalware Service Executable components (Win 10, 8, 7). The first solution is to open the administration section in the “Control Panel” and start the task scheduler service in it.
In its components, you should go down to the defender line (Windows Defender), after which four files responsible for the operation of the service will be displayed on the right. On each file, click and use the additional menu, where on the conditions service tab uncheck absolutely all items, and then save the changes.
In the second case, in the scheduler service, you can go directly to the Antimalware section, and then select the Scheduled Scan component in the center of the window. When you double-click, the settings window opens, where you need to use the trigger tab, in which the available trigger is selected, double-click to call up the setting and set the desired time for the process to work or turn it off completely.
Instead of an afterword
That, in fact, is all about the Antimalware Service Executable. What is it, I hope, is already clear. The question of whether to shut it down is debatable. In general, this is not recommended. But if you really observe an increased load on resources, provided that you have a powerful antivirus with a built-in Antimalware module, you can do this. To deactivate the component itself, you should not limit yourself to any one method - it is better to use both for accuracy, although by and large they are doublers of each other. But as they say, it’s better not to risk it.
It remains to add that only two ways of deactivating a component were considered here. This can be done by several other methods, for example, by editing the registry keys. But for a regular user, this may seem quite complicated, and you can make critical changes so that then the whole system refuses to work.
