Olga Zabelinskaya is a cyclist, silver champion and two-time bronze medalist of the Olympic Games, world, European and Russian champion. Winner of many tournaments. He is one of the most titled athletes in Russia. Since August 2018, it represents Uzbekistan at the competitions.
Childhood
Olga Zabelinskaya was born on May 10, 1980 in the city of Leningrad. The girl’s father, Sergei Sukhoruchenkov, was a famous cyclist. Two months after the birth of Olga, he became the Olympic champion in the 1980 competitions in Moscow.
Since the future cyclist was the illegitimate daughter of Sergei, she was forced to grow up without a father. Dad did not take any part in Olga's life. The athlete was able to meet him only when she became almost an adult. She was then about sixteen years old.
From an early age, the girl wanted to prove to her father that there was something in life, therefore, like him, she mounted a bicycle. From four years old, Olga dreamed of becoming an Olympic champion. In the USSR, children from the age of twelve were allowed to engage in cycling, but Zabelinskaya was taken at ten, as she said who her father was. The first coach of the girl was Yuri Filippov.
Mom, Lyudmila Anatolyevna, tried to replace her daughter with dad, tried to make sure that the girl did not feel left out. The woman was also an athlete. In her youth she was engaged in speed skating. She did it well. Lyudmila Anatolyevna earned the title of candidate for master of sports. She is currently working as a head teacher at a sports school in St. Petersburg. It was there that Olga’s first training took place.
Since the birth of Zabelinsky, the diagnosis was "inoperable heart disease." The girl was under the supervision of a rheumatologist, was regularly examined. Doctors forbade her to play sports, refused to issue certificates, but Olga went to different tricks. Later, the athlete noticed that during exercise her heart works better.
First achievements
Sport from a young age took the main place in the biography of Olga Zabelinskaya. Her career developed rapidly. At thirteen, the girl was ahead of her peers. She passed the standards of a candidate for master of sports and competed with older rivals.
At seventeen, Olga was already a two-time winner of the World Junior Championships. In 1997, Zabelinskaya won the individual race on the highway, and then on the track. The following year she was second among juniors.
Without stopping her professional career, the cyclist Olga Zabelinskaya entered the Faculty of Physical Education at the Russian State Pedagogical University and successfully graduated from it. In addition, the girl studied seven foreign languages: Chinese, Flemish, English, Spanish, German, French, Finnish.
In 2001, the athlete won the bronze at the European Championships, a year later - gold, taking the highest pedestal.
A family
Olga married her coach Yuri Anoshin. Three children were born in the family. In 2004, the son of Bogdan was born. Olga stopped training only a week before his birth, but she had to miss the Olympics in Athens. She answered all the comments of the management with a request not to interfere in her personal life.
Today, Bogdan is successfully engaged in cycling. He has every reason to hope for a successful career and champion title in the future. Like his mother, he learns languages.
In 2006, in the biography of Olga Zabelinskaya, cycling completely disappeared. She decided to end her career. On May 25, she put the vehicle in the garage and did not approach it for three years. To all persuasion to think, she answered with a firm refusal.
The girl helped her husband run a construction business. In 2008, a second child appeared in the family - the son Vitalik. The Beijing Olympics was again held without the participation of Zabelinsky. After the financial crisis, Olga began to do household chores and children.
The athlete was not used to a measured life and she quickly got tired of it. As a result, she personally called the head coach of the Russian national team, Yuri Sergeyevich Guryanov, and announced that she wanted to return to training. He was pleasantly surprised and gave his consent.
Return to sport
It was difficult for Olga to recover after a long break, but she coped with it. In 2012, the cyclist won the Russian Championship and received her first access to the London Olympics, where she won two bronze medals.
Then Olga had a daughter, Evelina.
During pregnancy, the athlete participated in the World Cup, and a few days after giving birth she started training again. According to Zabelinskaya, she planned the appearance of a third child in the family so that this event happened between the Olympics.
In 2016, Olga won bronze at the European Championships. In the same year, she became the silver medalist of the Olympic Games, which were held in Rio de Janeiro.
Citizenship change
Since 2011, Olga and her family have been living in two countries: in Cyprus, where they purchased a house, and in St. Petersburg, where it is convenient for an athlete to train. But in the summer of 2018, she announced that she wants to change her sports citizenship. On July 5 of the same year, Olga received a passport from Uzbekistan, which she will represent at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
